Former Minister for Trade and PSIs under the Kufuor government, Alan Kyerematen, has observed that this year’s election is about electing a government that will bring development to Ghana.

According to him, the overarching interest of any Chief should be the development of his jurisdiction, as well as the personal wellbeing of the people they serve.

He has therefore, admonished Chiefs and Queenmothers to be mindful of the choices they and their people will make as far as the November 7 polls are concerned.

“It is not the promises that we give you as politicians that you must use to select a government. It is their record that should guide you when you advice your own people on how to vote. If it is about record, I want you to remember what the NPP government did for the people of Ghana in the 8 years when we were in power,” Alan Kyerematen said.

He continued, “Every government will build schools, hospitals, roads. But development is not only about infrastructure. Kwame Nkrumah built roads and schools, even the military rulers also did the same thing. The difference, which must send a message and signal to you, is beyond the schools, hospitals, roads, which government has given you, as an individual, your own well-being and freedom? That is the message you must be thinking about.”nThe former Trades & Industry Minister made this known when he joined Nana Akufo-Addo to address separate meetings of 64 Chiefs from Akatsi South and Akatsi North, in Akatsi and Ave Dakpa respectively, on Friday, May 20, 2015.

The NPP stalwart continuing assured that “if you make a decision to bring the NPP back into government in 2016, the people of Ghana will see an unprecedented change in their lives. I can promise you. If you want to feel good about your life, vote for the NPP”.
