Members of the Interim Management Committee of the United Cadres Front (UCF-Ghana) wish to send this congratulatory message to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the founding of the Party.

The National Democratic Congress was formed through the amalgamation of progressive forces – principally the Eagle Club of Accra, the Development Union of progressive revolutionary cadres throughout the country, and the Rawlings Fan Club of progressive cadres and civilians in the Eastern Region – as well as functionaries, operatives, supporters, sympathizers and all those who believed and participated in the prosecution of the principles and ideals of the 1979 June 4 Uprising and the 1981 31st December Revolution.

Since 1992, the NDC has laid the solid foundations of a democratic order that has seen Ghana organize six successful general elections that have been recognized and acclaimed to be representative, free and fair and transparent.

Winning four out of six elections since 1992 is a testimony of the fact that the NDC is the only broad-based social interventionist political party that genuinely serves the best interest of the different shades of people in Ghana; particularly the poor and marginalized sections of our society, whenever it is in power.

To continue to win elections, and particularly that of 2016, the Party leadership should be aware and quickly ensure the inclusion of all factions and operatives of the Party, especially, the perceived neglect of the cadre corps who are the real vanguard of the party in terms of grassroots mobilization and organization. We must go into the 2016 elections with the sense of a common purpose of collective defence and protection.

There is no doubt that self-seekers have found their way into the Party built by selfless patriots who laid off their youthful days to enable Ghana gain her much-respected place as the Lode Star of Africa within the comity of nations. Our duty, as a party, is to expose the moles within us with the same seriousness as we prosecuted the two revolutions as well as winning elections.

We also abhor those who have joined the bandwagon of insulting personalities in the newspapers and on the airwaves which is against the tenets of the NDC. To promote transparency and accountability does not call for name-calling, vilification and dirty language.

Going by a famous quote attributed to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama that, “A tremendous amount of work has been done. Nevertheless, there is still a tremendous amount of work that needs to be done”, we wish every party member, supporter, sympathizer, and admirer a happy anniversary.

LONG LIVE THE CADRE CORPS!

LONG LIVE NDC!!

LONG LIVE GHANA!!!
