The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary for the Chiana-Paga constituency in the Upper East Region is slated for Saturday July 9, 2016.
The Upper East Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Donatus Akamugre told an Accra-based Citi FM that the National Executives of the party have now resolved the problems paving way for the polls.
The primary according to reports will be held at 48 electoral areas of the Kassena-Nankana West District.
The impending exercise was delayed seven months after the constituency failed to organize the internal polls in the enclave alongside several other areas on Saturday November, 21, 2015 due to a long drawn out case against the incumbent Member of Parliament Abuga Pele.
Abuga Pele’s eligibility was contested by his opponents ahead of the parliamentary primary as he stands trial in the Ghana National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) scandal.
