Parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Klottey Korle Constituency, Lawyer Philip Addison has chided the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for exhibiting gross incompetence, a situation he noted has created economic hardship for Ghanaians.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the private legal practitioner expressed his discontent at the way and manner the Mahama-led administration is managing the economy.

According to him, Ghanaians are experiencing extreme economic hardship due to government's failed promises and policies.

He described the situation as a desperate one, and needs serious attention in dealing with it.

He recounted how he had to personally support some young people in the constituency who are going through very genuine and desperate problems.

One major problem- youth unemployment- he maintained, is a serious crisis and a threat to the country.

Ghana's economy he said is in tatters and that President Mahama has lost track in fixing the problems adding that corruption is widespread with friends and cronies of government amassing wealth for themselves.

Lawyer Philip Addison, who is expected to launch his campaign Friday July 1st, 2016 said, Ghana needs change and that change will come.

The track record of the NPP he said was solid but the NDC over the last few years after assuming office, have failed to build on this track record.

"We have to change. It is important. It is clear that this government has run out of ideas. And we need to show them by our numbers that people are determined to have that change...The NPP has been in power for 8 years, and I believe that all those who recall those years can say that those years were more glorious than what we are having now. We didn't go through hardship. With-ever hard this dumsor thing; We've never hard this hardship we are facing now; the NPP can do it...Everyday more and more policies are being let out. We can do it. Everything that has been said we can do it. We've done it before."

Lawyer Philip Addison further lambasted the NDC government for rubbishing. but later, adapting their social intervention policies by the which they have failed to implement well.

"Those social interventions that were introduced by the NPP; the NDC first rubbished them; then they tried to adapt them and never really been able to work it out well on these social interventions...We want to come back; improve on them, improve on the lives of the people. So that these difficulties we are having now will be a thing of the past," he underscored.
