The Presidential candidate of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has said the party can win the general elections ‘one touch’ if electorates discard the notion that a vote for the party will be a waste of time, because it does not have the numbers to emerge victorious.

He said it has been the tactics of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to discourage the electorates that ‘smaller parties’ do not have the numbers to win elections in Ghana; therefore voting for them would be a waste.

“Do not fall for the tactics of the NDC and the NPP that voting for the APC, as you have decided, would be a wasted one. If you all vote for us, we will win one touch so that we form a government that will think of you.”

He said this on Tuesday, when he addressed traders at Kaneshie as part of this second day of the Greater Accra regional tour.

Mr. Ayariga said the party has demonstrated its readiness to take over the reins of leadership of the country, adding that its research has shown that voters are prepared to give APC the mandate but are skeptical if the party would win the polls.

According to him a vote for either the NDC or the NPP was rather a wasted one, because such votes over the years have not resulted in any positive change in the life of the electorates so “why do you continue voting for them.”

He said the fear of change was the bane of Ghana’s development and that it was time the electorates took a bold decision by bringing a party with fresh ideas to positively transform the economy of the country.

APC administration, he said, would fashion out policies that would lift the electorates from their economical conundrum by adding value to Ghanaian raw materials which would in turn create jobs for the teaming unemployed youth.

Mr. Ayariga who earlier made stopovers at Darkuman and Fadama where he interacted with spare parts dealers and residents, said the polls presented voters with the opportunity to cast a ballot that would change their destinies.

In an earlier meeting with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the APC leader was told to desist from campaign of personal attacks and focus on issue based campaign that would enrich Ghana’s political discourse.

The Chief Imam said the peace of the country must be cherished by all political players and that without peace, governance would be impossible.

Mr. Ayariga’s tour, dubbed “Come on board and lets build Ghana” took him to Sukura, Abossey Okai, Agbogbloshie, James Town, Makola and the Kwame Nkrumah Circle where he was mobbed by hundreds of people who waited for hours just to catch a glimpse of him.

At the onion market section at Agogbloshie, Mr. Ayariga promised to build an ultra modern market complex for them if voted as president to end the long years of displaying wares on the bare floor.
