With barely 70 days to the December 7, the largest opposition party, the NPP has hatched a plan to stoke violence, which it intends to exploit to disrupt the general elections.
The party according to reliable sources has among other dirty plans planned to organize protests and demonstrations to coincide with major events by the governing NDC or their candidates.
The latest incident happened at Larteh last Saturday afternoon when Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur was on his way to the Odwira festival.
With prior knowledge about the attendance of the Vice President, the main opposition party mobilized its supporters to try to stampede his arrival with provocative messages amidst verbal attacks.
Some of the supporters clad in party T-Shirts hooted at his convoy as it maneuvered the narrow streets of the town. They carried placards some of which read, NDC IS CORRUPT, WE WANT CHANGE and NANA BEBAliterally meaning Nana will come.
Some of the youth bussed for the exercise virtually crossed the path of the convoy. But for the tact in which the military and police handled the situation, the situation would have gone bad.
It took virtually ten to fifteen minutes before the situation was brought under control. Investigations have revealed one NPP activist, Nii Teiko Tagoe who was spotted on the ground was among the architects of the shameful incident.
It will be recalled that about a month ago, August 21, the NPP mobilized its supporters in Tamale to organize a demonstration as President John Mahama arrived there on his Accounting to the People Tour.
The NPP defied advice by the Regional Police Command and went ahead with the exercise which nearly degenerated into a clash when the pro NDC AZORKA boys tried to face them.
Key NPP activist including Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku, Anthony Karbo and other leading members joined the demonstrators who carried placards with messages, INCOMPETENT MAHAMA, WHERE IS THE GYEEDA MONEY, REDUCE ELECTRICITY TARIFFS.
The NDC which read in between the lines advised its members to remain calm. On September 17, when the NDC launched its manifesto, the NPP again tried to use disgruntled victims of the defunct micro finance scheme, DKM.
The organizers eventually pulled out their plans when the Police managed to secure a court injunction against the planned protest.
The Police is deeply worried about the trend of events especially as the 2016 elections proves to be a do or die affair for both the NDC and NPP.

Please if you're havin political arguments on any platform, be careful not to blaspheme because you alone shall be judged. Let's pray for peace and avoid unnecessary arguments.
If you want war, you shall have it. War starts with very little insignificant things so the two big parties must be aware. If you provoke a party and your member is hurt or killed, it could escalate. Please do not sacrifice your life for the ambition of any group. We all need to be alive to enjoy victory, should it be ours. Only God knows who will win.
We must not countenance such behavior. When NPP has a function, let NDC stay far from it and vice versa. If we want peace, we have to work for it.
