A group calling itself National Youth for Peace (NYP), has admonished the Electoral Commission (EC) to reconsider it’s decision in disqualifying the 13 candidates in the upcoming presidential election.
The group believes the disqualification is a recipe for disaster hence, the need for the EC to consider the peace of this country and the threat and tension, the action poses.
Head of Communications at the EC, Eric Kofi Dzakpasu has ruled out any possibility of consideration for the disqualified candidates.
He said, the EC acted lawfully and cannot be faulted. He indicated that, the requirements were explicit and those that failed to meet them, cannot be considered.
But CEO of Youth for Peace Mr Eric Baffour Nyarko, says the EC should not take an entrenched position on the matter considering the fallout from their disqualification. The EC on Monday qualified on four candidates to stand as candidates for the presidential election.
They are, Nana Akufo Addo, NPP, President John Dramani Mahama, NDC, Ivor Greenstreet, CPP and Jacob Osei Yeboah, an independent candidate. Among the disqualified candidates on Monday are two-time aspirant and businessman Papa Kwesi Nduom, and former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
The Electoral Commission Chairperson, Charlotte Osei announced at a news conference that those disqualified failed to meet the necessary requirements in filing their nomination forms.

So what should happened if in the general elections we find (pity) mistakes have been made by the EC officials ( which is most likely to happened), should the results be concealed as the EC do not 'tolerate' mistakes? We shall see. More elections petition will happen in this country as this becames the clear example.
BY FALLOUTS, WHAT DOES THE SO CALLED GROUP MEAN??? HAVE WE NOT HAD FALL OUTS ON EVERY ELECTIONS ALREADY? BY THE WAY WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF CONTESTING IN SOMETHING YOU KNOW YOU WILL NOT EMERGE VICTORIOUS...... IF IT IS EXPERIENCE,,, THEN THE DISQUALIFIED SHOULD BOW DOWN THEIR HEADS IN SHAME. BECAUSE HOW MANY TRIES HAVE THEY HAD, SINCE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE EC IS ORGANIZING ELECTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY. HOW MANY TIMES DID KONADU AGYEMANG SAT FOR GCE O'LEVEL, AND HOW DID NASIGRI MAHAMA EARNED HIS ANTI HYPOCRITICAL SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP? SO IF DR GREENSTREET, A FIRST TIMER HAD BEEN METICULOUS WITH HIS AND IT SAILED THROUGH THE SCRUTINY OF THE EC, THEN HE IS MORE WORTHY TO CONTEST THAN THE REST WHO HAS PROVEN OTHERWISE. SO MR NYARKO,,,, SH.UT YOUR BEAK AND HOLD YOUR PEACE.... WE WILL GO THROUGH A SUCCESSFUL ELECTIONS AND NDC WILL WIN. PERIOD.
The should be aspects of circumspection as to who should be on the ballot sheet. We can't allow all these 13 aspirants to be there. Some do not deserve to be there.
