The people of Central Region have assured Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of New Patriotic Party (NPP) of their unalloyed support in the coming elections so as to see the fall of the Mahama-led government which, according to them, is leading Ghana into an abyss.

According to the people, they have suffered a great deal under the Mahama-NDC government which, although promised to better the lives of the people rather worsened their plights, bringing them more unbearable pains.

In view of this, they have resolved to vote the NDC out of power and give their support to the NPP which they believe will change Ghana for the better.

The Chiefs and people of the various constituencies in the region promised their total support for Nana Akufo-Addo during his campaign to the Region.

The NPP candidate, who has so far swept majority support in the region as he ends his regional campaign, is considered the best candidate who deserves the peoples’ votes.

According to the people they are ready to vote for Akufo-Addo since he is the person who can help kick way poverty and also help raise the living standard of Ghanaians.

Although, the Region itself has been noted as the second world bank for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), the people have decided to at this time, vote massively for Nana Addo.

They indicated that, President Mahama and his NDC have abandoned the region after the demise of late President John Evans Atta Mills. They said they had high hopes that President Mahama could help keep the promise Atta Mills made to them during his time as President but they were saddened by the turn of events under John Mahama, who seems not to care about the people of the region.

The people who were visibly angry at the Mahama-led NDC were seen with placards in the streets with inscriptions such as “The ruling NDC has failed us and they have turn their back against us,” “Mahama must Go,” among others to drum home their frustrations under John Mahama.

Speaking at a mini rally in Assin Central Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng, the former Minister of Trade, addressing the people told party folks that all the policies that Nana Akufo-Addo has promised would be fulfilled and the people of Assin, including Central Region will not be left out.

Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has enjoined party supporters and sympathisers to rally behind Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reclaim political power in 2016, stressing that, “Posterity will judge us if we allow the NDC to stay in power for another four years for them to compound our sufferings.”

According to him, although the party had been in opposition for seven years, the enthusiasm and high interest of members of the NPP in the activities of the party was encouraging, calling on supporters to consolidate the votes of the party.

Nana Akufo-Addo, commended the members of the party in the region for having faith in him and the NPP and also for promising to vote massively for the party.

He described the claim by the NDC that they were working towards attaining one million votes in the Ashanti Region a fantasy and urged the members of the party in the Central Region not to despair about that since, the NDC cannot hoodwink the people this time.

Nana Addo also punched President Mahama on his comment that when he is voted into power he (Nana Addo) will demote some chiefs from their stools.

According to him, he is ready to work with all legitimate and legally installed chiefs.

Nana Akufo-Addo also pointed out that, there was no gainsay that chieftaincy problems and illegal land grabbing and sale by politicians and government officials are on the increase under the Mahama administration, and that his government will ensure that such acts of stealing from the poor masses for parochial interest are stopped.

The chiefs in the Central Region stressed their call on Nana Akufo-Addo to honour his words and assist the region with development since Mahama has totally abandoned them.

They said they are looking up to Nana Akufo-Addo to save them and help them live as Ghanaians but not as aliens on their own land.
