President John Mahama has warned persons who foment trouble during the 2016 general elections “will be dealt with swiftly” by the security personnel.
According to the President, as a commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, the public must be rest assured the impending polls will be peaceful.
There have been concerns about the peace and stability of Ghana as the country heads to the polls in exactly 28 days. However, addressing students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology [KNUST] on his tour of the Ashanti region, Mahama said electorate will be “protected” to vote in peace.
“On 7th December we go to the ballot, and it’s going to be another successful election for Ghana and I want to assure you that as the commander-in-chief, we will take every measure to make sure everybody is well protected to be able to cast his ballot. Any mischief makers will be dealt with swiftly and promptly,” Mahama warned.
President Mahama told the charged students the country will see economic transformation in his second term since his first term has been used in building a solid foundation. He added Ghana once again will rise to the occasion come December 7.
“I believe that we will have successful elections and Ghana will become not only the model of democracy, we just don’t want to be the model of democracy, we also want to be the model of economic prosperity in Africa. And we can do it if we put our shoulders to the wheel,” he noted.
He also called on the students to take up courses that will guarantee them ready job placements. President Mahama will today end his tour of the Ashanti region ahead of the December polls. He takes his campaign next to the Upper West region later this week.

You are rather the mischief maker Mr. President. No amount of intimidation can cow the people of Asante Region. You can bring battalions of troops into the region ans they will still stand up for their rights. You can go to hell and no one will care.
