The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo says NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has trained his 'violent' supporters to ‘only’ launch assault on NDC supporters ahead of the December 7 polls.
According to him, Nana Addo will be a “violent” leader should he become President.
“We can’t imagine what is going to happen to NDC members if Nana Addo becomes the President of this country,” he said.
His comment comes a day after the NDC was accused of attacking the residence of Nana Addo, but Afotey Agbo rubbished the claims and described it as frivolous.
Nima police personnel managed to stop what could have turn into a bloody clash between supporters of the NPP and NDC on Sunday.
This was after supporters of the NDC who were embarking on a health walk, allegedly veered off to Akufo-Addo's Nima residence, pelted stones and bottles at the house causing some damage.
The supporters, according to reports, tried to enter the house but met resistance from Nana Addo's security men.
The NPP in a statement accused the NDC of instigating the attack and condemned it accordingly.
"This action was premeditated and unquestionably violent. Amassing NDC supporters outside of the NPP Flagbearer’s house is part of a broad range of calculated, violent, and provocative acts designed to bait the NPP into responding in similar fashion.
"Such behavior is a threat to the integrity of our democracy and must not be tolerated," a statement signed by Nana Akomea said.
But Afotey Agbo on PEACE FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ rather accused the NPP of perpetrating violence ahead of the December 7 general elections.
He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that “Our supporters did not start the attack. There was no stone attack as reported. Why didn’t they [NPP] allow the police to access Nana Addo’s compound after those claims?”
“They should stop with those weapon things. They did same in Odododiodio, NPP should stop this violent acts they've been perpetrating. If they can fight among themselves in their own party, they can do same to other political parties,” he said.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister however gave the assuranc that as head of the Regional Security Council, ensuring a peaceful environment for the elections is his commitment.
He urged the security agencies to arrest and prosecute any individual who misbehaves as the country heads to the polls in 23 days.

Afotey onukpa buuuulu
I see. This means that the president is also violent because his security detail beat up people who shouted "change is coming" at his campaign and his presidential staffer, Dogbe smashed a camera belonging to a journalist and the president did nothing, not even condemn the act.
You see, it is about time many of this so-called NDC gurus do some serious thinking. Throughout the campaign period, you all have focused on Akufo Addo as a person. You do not see that this is what has made him so popular. Your strategy has bounced. Instead of concentrating on how you will collect all all stolen monies back, move away fro solo-sourcing, reduce taxes, pay those you still owe, you are still three weeks to election making NDC more and more unpopular by thinking that you can win by still fighting Akufo as a person and his character; you cannot see it is not working? You are now blaming CITIFM etc for ignoring you? whose fault? your own fault by concentrating on Nana Addo. It is rather to late for you, NDC activists.
lets be serious for once, what's all this about? I ask myself sometimes that how can the nation develop if the people are not prepared to be truthful,it seems almost everybody finds it comfortable lying. I do weep for Ghana.
Fuulish man like u Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo
Under this fo#ls mahama government any an#mal can be minister.Aboooooooooooabi lik u.
Always NDC is full of fooooooooooooools
Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, why don't pray to God to forgive you and your family for the bad deeds you are doing resulting in the frequent deaths of your siblings.Move away from the NDC and have your peace.
How can such a person be head of regional security council? I thought he would have allowed the Police to finish with their investigations before commenting. How could the Police be fair? Once again, tagging Nana Addo as violent would not wash. Fair minded Ghanaians know that he is not a violent man. #changeiscoming!
