Government has vowed to collect every penny that was wrongly paid to anybody, including businessman, Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome.
It will also ensure that the state 'purse' is saved to ensure judicious spending and from further borrowing.
The Minister of Communications Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, said this in Accra yesterday, when his ministry took its turn at the Meet-the-Press series.
Flanked by his deputies, Ato Sarpong and Felix Ofosu Kwakye, as well as Presidential Staffer, James Agyenim-Boateng and George Loh, Member of parliament for North Dayi and member often Government communications Team, the Minister said government was determined "to collect a dime wrongfully paid."
He described as unfortunate, the misinterpretation, and twists associated with the Attorney Generals quest to collect the money from Mr. Woyome.
Explaining that "the 51 million was not paid under the guise of President Mahama," he said it was time people appreciated efforts being made by the government to ensure that the money was refunded to the state.
Dr. Boamah said government had also ensured that those implicated in corruption-related cases were investigated, and some put before court to serve as deterrent to others.
He commended the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, for saving the country colossal amounts of money which would either have gone into the drain, or as cost that could had gone against the stated.
He urged journalists to delve more into issues that would better the lives of the people rather than on Woyome's case.

Omane, u re very sstupid n uuseless indeed.
One very fo0lish minister indeed. You are s.tupid
This minister is talking through the other end of body. We are quick to throw a banana ***barred word*** into prison for three months, mr wayomi has stollen C51 millions from the state and for the past three or so years he walks about the streets of Accra like a cock on a walk. Grow up mr minister.
So is this man a minister of state? I feel sad for Ghana.. God please we beg u deliver us from this sorry state.. we are suffering
THIS IS AN ABNORMAL PERSON! AFTER TALKING A LOT OF RUBBISH WHEN OUR TAXES WERE BEING PLUNDERED BY YOUR PRESIDENT AND MEN INCLUDING YOU, YOU HAVE THE NERVE YOUNG MAN TO TALK RUBBISH. YOU ARE LUCKY I AM IN A GOOD MOOD TODAY.
This is evidence based presentation and those journalists who do wishy washy jobs that require fail to get the full overview of a case and run to publish are the worse sort of journalist. We saw pictures of Attorney General going to house supposed to be that of Woyome and the interactions that took place and the journalist failed to continue to check when UT bank claimed part ownership therefore it cannot be sold but they failed to contact UT to get their perspective to report back but relaxed and then failed to continue the story and he was lambasting them.
PRIDE GOES BEFORE A FALL. THE ARROGANCE OF OMANE-BOAMAH AND FOR THAT MATTER HIS NDC WILL MAKE THEM FALL ON DEC. 7. WE ARE BEING TOLD TODAY TO SHUT OUR MOUTHS AND RATHER TALK ABOUT THINGS THAT MATTER TO THEM. WE SHALL TALK ABOUT THINGS THAT MATTER TO US ON DEC. 7. NO QUALMS AT ALL.
God will punish you and your children for propagating such callous and insensitive comments. So you thing this money can"t take Ghanaians anywhere abi? You are soo ***barred word*** to spew such utterances. May the gods of your village deal with you omane boamah, thunder will strike you soon. you take Ghanaians for fo.ols right? Gyimiii.
The issues that will better the lives Ghanaians is to tell you to collect our stolen money for us. You people have been going on borrowing spree while you allow those ***barred word***, who have stolen our money, walk aroud with apparent impunity. And when you told to collect those monies, you say what? NDC has virtually moortgage Ghana for loans and you asking you to go after Woyome is non issue. And this is coming from a doctor? I am an elementary school leaver but I can do better analysis than this.
51 million Ghana Cedis will better the lives of many Ghanaians media wont stop talking about it
