President Mahama has handed over brand new vehicles to members of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) at forecourt of the state house, Accra.
The vehicles which were procured to the private sector transport operatives on hire purchase arrangement through MASLOC will significantly enhance public transport and the comfort of the commuting Ghanaian public.
The cars and buses which are brand new and air-conditioned will drive on the newly asphalted roads in the cities, constructed by the Mahama government.
These new additions to the population of commercial vehicles on the country's roads will not only enhance the competitive edge of Ghanaian commercial drivers but also improve the travelling experience of the public.
Indeed this will further lift up Ghana's image as a tourist destination for foreign visitors into the country.
This new addition to the stock of public transport follow major investments by the government into public transport system this year alone.
Only last week President Mahama inaugurated the Aayalolo Bus Rapid Transport system with 245 brand new luxury air-conditioned buses which ply the Northern and Western trunk roads into the central business district of Accra.
A month earlier President Mahama presented the Intercity State Transport Company with 50 brand new air-conditioned Marcopolo buses. Even before that the government supplied the Metro Mass Transport Company with 116 brand new air-conditioned buses. They are fitted with USB phone charging ports and Wi-Fi.
All the above, in addition the procurement and supply of buses to secondary and tertiary education institutions have not only overhauled the system of transport in the country but also improved the travelling experience of Ghanaians.
The effect of these massive investments in the public sector will be a greatly improved standard of living of Ghanaians particularly at this time when fuel prices have marginally declined at the pumps making drivers extend distance travelled before refuelling.
In spite of indications from opposition members of the public that cost of living has hiked, the recent transformation of the transport system by the government will no doubt improve the standard of living of the average Ghanaian.
This current stride in the provision of transport services in the country goes to reinforce the Mahama government's campaign message that it is changing the lives of Ghanaians and transforming the country.

THE MOCKERY OF ONE THIS, ONE THAT. DIFFUCLTY OF UNDERSTANDING ONE THIS ONE THAT. ONE FACTORY ONE DISTRICT? THE QUESTION IS WHICH KIND OF FACTORY? CURRENTLY, THERE IS EVEN ONE BLOCK FACTORY IN EVERY SIZEABLE TOWN IN GHANA NOT EVEN AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL. ONE PURE WATER FACTORY IN EVERY SIZEABLE TOWN IN GHANA. FUNNY AND WRONG ORIENTATIONS OF THE MISUSE OF DOLLAR CURRENCY. I RECALLED BACK IN DAYS WHEN RESIDENTS OF MY VILLAGE SENT 100 USA DOLLARS TO DEVELOPMENT FUND FROM USA . WHILES TOWNFOLKS VOLUNTEER RESIDENT IN TEMA AND ACCRA WERE DONATING GH 1000 CEDIS. AN INTELLIGENT WE WERE, WE USED TO PLACED MUCH PREMIUM ON THE USA 100 DOLLARS UNTIL WE GOT TO APPRCIATE THAT THE GH 1000 WORTH MORE THAN USA 100. INDEED, IF THERE ARE 270 CONSTITUENCIES AND EACH RECEIVING 1 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR FOR DEVELOPMENT. A TOTAL OF 270 MILLIONS DOLLARS IN A YEAR TIMES 4 YEARS(270 MILLION*4 YEARS)=1.080 BILION DOLLARS IN 4 YEARS UNDER INTENDED AKUFFO ADDO REGIME. FUNNY, THE SO CALLED CONSTITUENCIES DEVELOPMENT FUND HAVE BEEN SWALLOWED BY ONE JUST MAJOR GAS PROJECT AT ATUABO, 3 MAJOR GENERATION PLANTS(KARPOWER, AMERI, GE) HAVE SWALLOWED CONTITUENCIES DEVELOPMENT FUND. TEMA PORT AND TEMA MOTORWAY PROJECT IS MORE THAN ALONE ,1.2 BILLION, ATUABO PORT. IF KASOA IS RECEIVING 4 MILLION DOLLARS IN 4 YEARS, KASOA INTERCHANGE COST CAN FUND 170 MILLION/ 4 MILLION=42 CONSTITUENCIES. PER NPP ANALOGY, KASOA INTECHANGE COST CAN FUND THE ENTIRE CENTRAL REGION IN 4 YEARS. I GUESS RIDGE HOSPITAL CAN FUND THE ENTIRE GREATER ACCRA AND CIRCLE INTERCHANGE COST CAN FUND ENTIRE ASHANTI REGION. SIMPLICITER: MAHAMA HAS SPENT MORE THAN 10 MILLIONS PER CONSTITUENCY. TEMA HARBOUR EXPANSION,TEMA MOTORWAY,ATUABO HARBOUR,TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY,COMMUNITY SECONDARY,NEW MARKET, HOSPITAL, UNIVERSITY,ROADS
The poor people in the country especially the North need something better than cars importation. Something that can sustain them.

I am happy my fellow Ghanaians are rationalising everything in our police. I thank God for the maturity and enlightenment. Cheap leadership is cheap it does not matter how it is made to cost.I salute all discerning Ghanaians.
THIS STATEMENT COMING FROM MAHAMA'S BROTHER ALFRED JUST CONFIRMS THAT MAHAMA AND HIS BROTHER IBRAHIM TRULY BRIBED BUGRI NAABU. "BENEVOLENCE" IN MAHAMA, IBRAHIM MAHAMA AND NDC DICTIONARY MEANS BRIBERY. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY GAVE TO AFOKO,KAGYEPONG, CRABBE, WEREKO-BROBBEY, ARTHUR KENNEDY, NYAHO TAMAKLOE AND THE REST OF THE TRAITORS. JAH BLESS BUGRI NAABU FOR TAKING MAHAMA'S MONEY BUT REJECTING TO RUN DOWN AKUFO ADDO/NPP CAMPAIGN. GHANA PEOPLE LET'S ARISE AND VOTE OUT BARAWO MAHAMA AND HIS BARAWO BROTHER IBRAHIM, FRIENDS AND DEVIL NDC IN DECEMBER. INSHA ALLAH!!!

WOW, GUYS DO YOU REMEMBER THAT NANA ADDO SAID THAT PETROL PRICES WILL BE REDUCE BEFORE THE ELECTIONS? AND NOW THE INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT IS SHARING BUSES AND CARS, WHAT A DESPERATE PRESIDENT. #ARISEFORCHANGE, #NANABEBA.
Why all this Panic Sharing of goodies by our President. John be careful with TAX PAYERS money o' because come 2017 you are going to account for every and any pesewa spent. The causing Financial will be gingered Again.
I don't get it! Why is the President going about commissioning everything that is new in Ghana. What are the ministers and even the city Mayors doing? Buses for the city falls within the domain of the city Mayor. All those small, small schools he is going about commissioning is a waste of presidential time. Imagine a school built in a small district being commissioned by President! aba!
VOTE BUYING! TOOOOOOO LATE. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT YOU ARE DOING ALL THESE BECAUSE OF ELECTIONS. IS THIS EXERCISE CAPTURED IN THE BUDGET? YOU WILL COME BACK TO SAY TO US THAT 'YAWE NNAM NOO NA AKA DOMPE'. THESE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS WE SEE IN A DESPIRATE PRESIDENT WHO WILL DO ANYTHING TO HANG ON TO POWER. CHANGE IS COMING
