Deputy Power Minister, John Jinapor believes the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) fanciful campaign promises won them the just ended general elections.
Speaking on Joy FM Saturday, the MP-elect for Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency insisted that the NPP’s luscious promises gave voters a decision to make, therefore, improving their fortunes at the polls.
“NPP made mouthwatering promises and gave voters a huge decision to make. They promised to reduce taxes, create jobs for the youth and build factories in all the districts”.
“They also promised to construct dams in all the villages across the country and that influenced people so much, because they were in opposition and they had that luxury to make promises whether they are feasible or not,” the deputy minister explained.
Nana Akufo-Addo was declared president-elect by the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei on Friday, after polling 53.85% of the total valid votes cast to beat President John Mahama who managed just 44.85% of total valid votes cast.
Mr Jinapor, however, said the party would return to basics and come back stronger in 2020.

With this coming from the outgoing minister I can confidently conclude that NDC had no message during their campaign. The lie peddlers did not succeed this time. And what? Did I hear him say they will come back again. Hmmmmmmmmm....... Maybe not now. Next time if you see an elderly person you will collect his bag.

Ghanaians were unhappy through out your 8years in power, you destroyed their lively hood, you destroyed their education, you encouraged unemployment and you ruled with whom you know tactics, you discriminated against your perceived enemies and you turned Ghana into an ***barred word*** farm. You released people like Koku Anyidoho,Kofi Adams, Kwadwo Twum Boafo, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Kwaku Boahen, Solomon Nkansah,Sam George, that ug*y thing Nii Lantey Vanderpuye,Fiifi Kwettey, Akoh Gunn,Salifu Maase aka Mugabe to insult, denigrate, vilify and say all sorts of lies about our leaders, clergy,Chiefs,Opinion leaders and everyone even including your own founder, his wife and a founding member Sir Martin Amidu who have opposing views of your dealings. I'm telling you John that's the main factor which made Ghanaians to dislike your party. You are not coming back like the country is for you,JJ Rawlings needs to get his party back to reform, restructure to make it attractive to the people. For now Ghanaians see your party as for the kriminals,lo*ters, incompetent and inexperienced, arrogant and disrespectful bunch of idi*ts. Now we've shown you that we understand d rudiments of the game. Come back where and when? 2016? Masa go and cone no more. Because all the sages who voted for Npp and nana Addons will surely vote for him again and even if they're dead and gone their sons and daughters will surely vote for a practical, inclusive and competent administration of the Npp. In fact we just assumed office and need undivided time to do our best and if you've got nothing beneficial to say other than this ***barred word*** ranting...
