Police in Asamakese went on a wild goose chase ostensibly to rescue the defeated National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Lower West Akim, Shirley Naana Ampem, who was reportedly under attack only to find her doing pedicure.
There were false reports that some supporters of the NPP and NDC had clashed on Sunday in Asamankese during a health walk by the NPP.
The report said the NPP supporters allegedly diverted their route to the street leading to the house of the defeated NDC candidate, resulting in a clash between the two groups. In the process, the house of the MP reportedly came under attack as some of the youth were pelting her residence with stones.
Asamankese District Police Commander, DSP Anane Appiah said his outfit received a distress call from the Parliamentary candidate, following which he mobilized his men and rushed to the defeated candidate’s home, but was shocked to find out that she made a false claim.
“This was the allegation that came to my office, we swiftly went there and saw that it was not true. It was just about two or three people who were passing by the house of the defeated Parliamentary candidate of the NDC, and some of the guys in the house wanted to confront them. They fabricated a story that the NPP people came and attacked them. That was not true.”
He continued: “It was the PC who while in her room called me that some people had come to attack them. So we quickly went there less than five minutes and we saw that she who called was in her room doing pedicure. Then I said you just rang me that some people are attacking you and you are in your room making pedicure. Then she said some of her boys came and gave her that information. Meanwhile, there were about six or seven cars there, so if they really threw stones it would have hit at the glass or bonnet of one of the cars but we saw that it was not true.” DSP Anane Appiah said.

All these lies are being organized by Asiedu Nketia to make the NPP look bad. What a shame and a disgrace to a defeated party who are down on their knees.
The police have to enforce the law, charge her for wasting Police time.
A lot of so called atrocities allegedly perpetrated by NPP supporters are lies. Yesterday there was another guy on radio who claimed people living in his house had been attacked. When asked which hospital they had been rushed to he could not say. Later the NPP guy and police said it was a lie. Whoever is doing these acts should be arrested and it will include their people. They should not think we have forgotten what they did in 2008. Today Collins Daudas brother has attacked several people who are in hospital with cutlass wounds. These attacks must be condemned yes but it should not be reported unfairly and unjustly.
What happened to the law against deceiving a public officer? The police must act now against this woman who was leader of the Gals 4 Mahama in 2012.

Truly truly there is change. The police officers can boldly say the truth because now they will no more be victimized.
