General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government to uphold the laws of the country.
Addressing the issue regarding former President John Mahama's request to retain his official residence, Mr. Asiedu Nketia, popularly called General Mosquito wondered why the government is making a big fuss over somehow an issue that could be easily solved.
According to him, the laws of the country permit that former President John Mahama is remunerated till death and also given a house when he exits the seat of government.
He therefore believes President Akufo-Addo will act within the confines of the law and give the former President his due.
General Mosquito further called on the President to call his people to order and ensure that they do not perpetrate any move to seize the official residence of President John Mahama.
To him, it would be unlawful for any person to apply force and eject the President from his official residence.
“It’s a much ado about nothing. I think Nana Addo should call his people to order. The issue will be over once he talks about it. It’s any issue that should not even engage the attention of people. The laws state that when the President is retiring, we should give him a house and remunerate him till death,” he said.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia further commended Nana Addo for his first batch of Ministers, stressing that he believes they have the requisite qualifications and expertise to execute their duties effectively.

Asiedu Nketia does not read the law and does not understand the law.
