A total of six out of ten candidates have filed their nomination forms to contest the council of state election in the central region.
Central regional Director of Eelectoral Commission, Mrs Philomena Edusei has said that, all the ten candidates came to pick the forms to contest the election which would be held on the 9th of February, 2017, but by the close of day yesterday evening at 5pm only six had submitted their forms.
Below are the candidates:
Nana Appiah Nuamah ll- A Educationist
Dr. Okatakyi Amanfi VII - A Lecturer
Samuel Nana Brew - Butler - Management Scientist
Neenyi Ghartey VII - Traditional Ruler
George Frempong - Reg Co-ordinator for inclusive educ.
Prof. Ato Essuman - Associate professor (education & Dev).
Mrs. Edusei stated that, the youngest among them is 56 years old and the oldest is 60 plus.
The Electoral Commission has released the timetable for all the ten regions across the country for the election of the Council of State members which has been slated for February 9, 2017.
The timetable indicate that nominations opened from January 20 and filing of nomination would be closed on January 26, for the election to take place on February 9.
