The Eastern Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bismark Tawiah Boateng is urging the Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka to resign his position as leader in Parliament.
According to him, his alleged involvement in a bribery scandal that has hit the Appointment Committee of Parliament has brought huge shame to the party and the high office that he occupies.
An NDC MP for Bawku, Mahama Ayariga accused his colleague MP, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, of being a conduit through which the Minister-designate for Energy, Boakye Agyarko, attempted bribing members on the Appointment Committee to ensure his approval after his vetting.
Hon. Ayariga allegedly that the Minority Chief Whip gave him and other members GH?3,000.00 thinking it was their sitting allowance that had been promised them, but returned the money after they found out that the money was a bribe from the Minister-designate for Energy.
Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak has since then denied ever giving any money to Mahama Ayariga.
An 5-member Ad hoc committee chaired by Former Attorney General and MP for Essikado, Joe Ghartey is currently probing the bribery scandal.
Speaking to Kasapa News, Mr Tawiah Boateng stated that he wants Hon. Muntaka to relinquish his post as he’s not being truthful in his defence.
“All his other colleagues on the Appointment Committee apart from the Minority Leader assert that the money he brought them is bribe, how can he turn round and take money from Hon. Agyarko who at his vetting described President Mahama as a corrupt person. What is worrying is his constant defence that the allegation is not true. He should give up the Minority Chief Whip position for another person who can best work to prosecute the agenda of the minority in Parliament. If there is any truth to be told he should tell our party General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia so we know how to handle the matter.”

MY PEOPLE, LET US FACE THE TRUTH OF THESE ISSUE AND IF IT IS TRUE THAT MR. AGYARKO GIVE MONEY TO MUNTAKA TO BE SHARE AMONG HIS MEMBER. AND I ASK DO YOU THINK THAT AT THESE MOMENT AND THE TIME THE NEWS BROKE UP MR. MUNTAKA WOULD HAVE SAY THAT YES MR. AGYARKO GAVE HIM MONEY. AND IF HE DARE SAY YES (1) HE WOULD BE CONSIDER HIM AS CORRUPT (2) THE INTEGRITY OF THE HOUSE WOULD BE DIMINISH AND A WHOLE LOT
Hmmmm Mr chemu pe3 you are still talking after loosing heavily in the eastern region. Return the balance of the campaign money. It is the end of your political career.
Is the guy sleeping or what??? Arrrhhhhh but what at all is going on in that NDC party? Are they a serious political party or they want to go into full-scale concert??? Look, the EC must withdraw the NDC party's certificate so they can concentrate on their new found vocation; comedy.
Look at this one too. Just because he failed to do your bidding ? ***barred word*** !!!!!
That is the plan of Mahama's boot-lickers in NDC! They have FAILED woefully. This will surely lead to disintegration in OPPOSITION NDC. Mahama thinks he can use those boot-lickers to regain his SHATTERED image, but NO!
how can a human being capable of reasoning, born of a woman think like this.
look at the face like agpatashi drinker same like Asiedu Nketia and Adaho no brainers, lock enough God came in for NDC party to loose the 2016 election . All the members has wicked faces with deferent mentality. wicked people
This is the thinking of NDC leaders: Just because he has been accused so he has to resign? What kind of logic is this? Has Ayariga been able to proof his bribery allegation? Why are you not asking Ayariga to resign as an MP since he hasn't been able to proof his case? He's basing his bribery allegation on a rumour he heard on Radio Gold. This guy for calling Muntaka to resign is not being logical, reasonable and sincere at all. I'm glad he's not a judge because wouldn't be fair at all.
Oye you are 100% right somebody Yaw Boateng Gyan
SO THE AGENDA OF THE NDC IN PARLIAMENT IS TO LIE AGAINST INNOCENT PEOPLE. ? AND SINCE MURTAKA CANNOT PURSUE THAT AGENDA OF THE NDC HE SHOULD RESIGN. AHBA, NDC HOW CAN YOU EVEN DREAM OF COMING BACK TO POWER WITH BLOCK HEADS LIKE THIS TAWIAH BOATENG ALIAS CHEMPE.
