President Nana Akufo-Addo’s decision to appoint 110 ministers has generated an outburst from some members of the National Democratic Congress but one leading member of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Dori, has refused to share their sentiment.
He has rather praised the president for rewarding loyal NPP members with his recent appointment.
The former NDC aspirant for Bawku Central constituency informed Peacefmonline.com that President Nana Akufo-Addo is right to have rewarded loyal and hardworking members of his party with ministerial positions.
According to Alhaji Dori, “running a government is a matter that must be seen spearheaded by competent members from within the party who worked hard to bring the party into power and that their appointments to designated ministries have created jobs for them. And based on that I believe is not farfetched regardless of the number.”
President Akufo-Addo has come under severe criticisms after new appointments he made on Wednesday brought the number of ministers and deputy minsters to 110.
With this number of appointees, Akufo Addo’s government becomes the biggest ever in the Fourth Republic. The previous NPP government led by former President John Agyekum Kufuor had 88 ministers, the Mills administration that succeeded it had 69 ministerial appointees while the Mahama administration, had 78 ministerial appointments.
Some members of the NDC have argued that the size of Nana Addo’s government would have have some implications on the public purse but to Alhaji Dori, the appointments would rather encourage other members of the NPP to work tirelessly to make this administration successful.
“It shows a clear commitment on the part of NPP government to want to compensate and reward loyal and committed members of the party by giving them such appointments and to a large extend reinforces further hard working members of the party to continue to work tirelessly to see the party remain in government with the hope of being rewarded in same gesture”, he said.
He therefore called on executive members of the NDC to emulate the trend set by the NPP and reward people who have done their best for the party.
“Indeed, 110 ministers isn’t a small number but it's necessary to consolidate strong party support base from hard working party members. It is therefore a wakeup call to the NDC and any other political party not to ignore and deny its support base”, he advised.

Please do not let it looks that the President is only creating Jobs for the NPP Loyalist ony for their loyalty sake. Mind you a lot of hard working NPP gurus have also refused appointment from the President. They prefer working for the Party to any ministeral appointment. We should be mindful, as per NPP manifesto, that the President has insisted, and indeed, been consitent about his Vision of transforming Ghana from Gugisberg type of economy, exportation of our raw natural resources, to that of value added industrial and productive economy. Therefore he needs all hands on board and not only from his so called NPP Loyalist but also pivate Investors from everywhere in the world. People argue that we have instutitions in place which can help him archieve his goals, all things being this argument could hold. But the institutions have been there in our previous Administrations and the results are there to see. The President keeps on saying tha, you can't Keep on doing the same thing all time and expect different results. If we flashed a little back we would realize that President Kufour comparatively increased his numbers and he achieved better results than others.
Thank God they are going to work for the betterment of the nation but not judgement debt of create, looooot and share. Majority of the appointees are from the parliament who are paid by their parliamentary salary so what is your problem ndc. Ghanaians are not going to judge the government by their numbers but by their works ndc was booted out not by their 600 and over presidential aids and assistance in the flagstaff house but by their create, loooot and share, by their inflated contract prices,by sole sourcing, by bus branding and Woyome,by your incompetence and insults,by your arrogance and pomposity,by your st*pidity and foooooolishness. NPP are going to be judged by their promises and works. The SHS,NHIS, FREE SCHOOL FEEDING,1 District 1 factory,1 village 1 dam in the north and the 1 million dollars 1 constituency but not how money people are going to execute the work they can have 300 appointees if that will help get the work done. Ndc will talk in opposition till they disentegrate, the division in the ndc shows the party is dead, the party has no leader and Koku Anyidoho has shown it clear ndc has the Atta Mills faction,JDM faction and the Rawlings faction no wonder they got beaten well well in the last elections with this division in them. I now know Koku Anyidoho didn't vote for JDM by his interview with Nana Aba Anamoah. Koku do you love Mahama? I love Atta Mills, Koku Do you love Mahama? I worked for him,Do you love Mahama I worked for him and leadership rotates so the leadership will rotate. Love is conditional. Thanks Koku Anyidoho, ndc will stay in opposition forever
Pls Dori wise up , i hope u dnt pay tax else u wouldn't have made such statement , using tax payers money to compensate and reward ur party members and u're happy about that . Yoo 4 years is jst at the corner so say all u want.
look at this ***barred word*** too, creating unnecessary ministers and causing financial loss to the state
