National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NDC), Sammy Awuku has called on the leadership of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to cease fire.
Addressing recent conflicts arising in the NDC on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Sammy Awuku expressed displeasure with the turn of events in the party and urged the party stakeholders to "save" it from any eruption of hostilities.
The NPP National Youth Organizer described the NDC internal strife as a matter that borders on national security.
He therefore called for peace to reign in the opposition party, saying “I think what can save the NDC now, even though I don’t wish them success and I’m being very honest. I wish them luck. What can save them now is maybe to fast-track the Committee going round…"
A Committee which will address the issues, he believes, is a step in the right direction because "the internal matters are a national security matter."
He advised the party to "hold themselves together and at least everybody should put his/her personal interest aside and save the party.”
