Members of a vigilante group affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Delta Force, stormed the Kumasi Circuit Court today [Thursday], and freed the members of their group who were facing charges for causing disturbances at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council.
A reporter who was in court told Citi News that the group vandalized some court properties, and almost assaulted the Judge, Mary Senkyire.
The judge had ruled that, they be remanded to appear before court on the 20th of April, 2017. The 13 were detained in connection with the group’s raiding of the Regional Coordinating Council on March 24, where they were alleged to have assaulted the newly appointed Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, George Adjei.
After the judge’s ruling, the members said they were not going to allow the ruling to stand, and demanded that the 13 leave the court with them.
According to the reporter, the judge stood in shock at the group’s behaviour, and was on the verge of being brutalized up by the vigilante group before police intervened and ushered her into her chamber.
No arrest has as yet been made in connection with the court disturbances, although some police officers were present at the Court.

Is Nana in control or has simply lost control.
This is an insult to our democracy. I blame the police men and officers who look helpless before these vigilante group. If they have been trained well to disarmed targets as we have in the Western world these acts of gross disrespect wont happen. The Gh police should give their men training in kunfu, krav maga, tai chi, taekwando etc where the tiniest officer can knockdown the most macho man in a split seconds. All they know is gun gun so becomes helpless when no gun. Until then these crons will have their way all the time. As much as we need peace the police must up their game and be firm
Ghana de sweat papa. I want to hear all the critic of president Mahamah on the montie 3. What this group has done has never happen under any democracy anywhere in the world. We are waiting for the University Lectures, the Professors, The Civil Society Groups to show us the way. It seems things have fallen apart and the center cannot hold. Is this what we voted for?. the executive is behaving like there is military take over and their vigilante group are taking position. I am very shameful. Kennedy Agyeapong will brake this Government.
COP NATHAN KOFI BOAKYE needs to come back to the Ashanti region. They posted him out and brought an INCOMPETENT one. How can this happen in modern Ghana?
nop, life before protection ok, i hope the police did strategy move there as had they apprehend them, it would have been something else., i was in support of the change of the coordinator but not to the extend of this unruly behaviour, guys let champion the course in good faith and in civil manner but to say something here to our party leadership making recommendation to nana for appointments to note that, WE CANNOT ANY LONGER SACUUM TO THEIR SELFISH INTEREST OF RECOMMENDATIONS, this is a simple matter, put the guy they want there but dont resource him, simple common sense so at least by three months, s/he will ber frustrated to work, resign and the re assign him., at all course putting mr adjei there as coordinator wont help matters, nana, dont let the good will of the people die so easily and early, after all, each appointee is subject to re assignment or change, why are u still stuck in ya guns to put adjei there causing all these embarrasement to ya great and excellent starting governance, CHANGE ADJEI & that WEAK FEABLE kan dappah, cant ken agyapong be national security minister?, we worked hard to get the party into power and i swear, we wont let power go out so easily again like in 2008, any who dare , will be dared, ppl should let nana have the peace of mind and freedom to make appointments, but NANA please dont depend much on the ministers now, some are selfish like the weak kan dappah and transport minister, is time nana you consult regional eecutives, patrons and council of elders in each region for rcommendation, not all appointments must come from you or accra, some in common sensse must be from the region of their choice after all, they will all directly or indirectly report to you and can be change any time so why all these EMBARRASEMENTS, even for that long it took us to power in 2001, these rots never happened so why now
Even the police and the courts seem powerless before these so-called Delta force. Then we are not safe in this country. What impunity! Npp watch out there is still time, because we could change our minds come 2020. I pray we survive Delta force assaults.
Montie 3 comments were distateful and a security threat to our judges but this action from the so-called Delta Force is shameful to say the least. I am waiting to hear all those who made noise in Ghana during the last regime. If they keep quiet on this, I will be certain in my mind that, they were politicians who were seeking to have their party voted to be in government. Our security as a people is at stake.
So must the police be told what to do before they do it? This n0n.sense must stop.nana addo please step up your game.kan dapaah is just not on top of issues....tweeeeaaaa
