Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper was short of words for the first time on Wednesday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo’ after news broke that some legislators in Ghana’s Parliament have been involved in visa fraud.
Three sitting Members of Parliament (MP) and a former MP were cited by the UK High Commission for visa fraud.
In a petition to the Speaker of Parliament, the UK High Commissioner recounted stories of an alleged visa fraud.
The petition cited Richard Acheampong, MP for Bia East in the Western Region; Joseph Benhazin Dahah, MP for Asutifi North in the Brong Ahafo region; Johnson Kwaku Adu, MP for Ahafo Ano South West in the Ashanti Region and George Boakye, former MP for Asunafo South in the Brong Ahafo.
Kweku Baako Jnr speaking to the issue on PeaceFM said: “this is bad, this is serious, not good at all; they are in big trouble…this is not good at all. They can even lose their seat if they are not careful; I am actually scandalised; I am hurt. This is a disaster”
According to him, the three MPs can even be thrown out of parliament for their involvement.

THEY HAVE SOILED OUR NAME SCANDALOUS=NDC AGAIN?
My only surprise is that it has taken this long for this to become a news item. This practice can be traced as far back as the PNDC era. There are thousands of Ghanaians living illegally in various developed countries who were helped to enter those countries by people in positions of power in Ghana. The British Laws have no respect for anyone regardless of your position in society to the extent that unlike Ghana, a British MP is even afraid of the police. If the institutions in Ghana are allowed to work the way they should then this sort of disgrace will not befall the country. If the Ghanaians in positions of power were running the affairs of the country efficiently and effectively, then there will be no need for someone to try to enter any of the developed countries to engage in menial and degrading jobs just to earn a living to take care of their basic human needs.
they are not above the law.
