The newly appointed Managing Director of the State Transport Company, (STC), Nana Akomea, has revealed that he personally convinced President Akufo-Addo to give him the position in January this year, after the party won the December polls.
According to him, he did so with the idea of helping to make the transport company profitable.
Responding to allegations he had rejected the appointment, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said there was no way he would reject an appointment he had earlier asked for.
Nana Akomea in an earlier interview with an Accra-based FM station said, “I have told the President the position I want to occupy and he has agreed. There are laid down procedures for appointing a Chief Executive for that institution and so there is the need to follow the process so that the President will not violate the law.”
“The president is going through the process. When he is done, he will make my appointment public.” But there were rumours that Nana Akomea had rejected the appointment by President Akufo-Addo.
However, in a facebook post on April 27, 2017, Nana Akomea said, such rumours by faceless persons were false and “just for comic relief.”
“There is some post on social media that l have refused the president’s nomination of myself as chief executive of the venerable state transport company. This post by some faceless person is just for comic relief I had convinced the president for this assignment way back in January, to do a specific job of bringing the STC back into profitability.
So how can l be reported to be upset about an appointment l myself had asked for.?”

STC turnover a year is bigger than some ministries. Akomea should do a better job coz Nuamah-Donkor did very well to bring STC back on stream. He should not go there and mess up the company.
You guys should think wise, he been bigger than that position isnt the issue but working as a team to put tings together,Opuni was given cocobod and since that was what NDC's thought he deserves and what happened in return? Lots of cedis were misused and u sit to talk as if u dont drink water or eat. The man is there to work and not to enjoy big position so stop the cheap politics. @mark there are so many masters holders reporting to degree holders so also 45years reporting to 29year managers so there is nothing wrong with him reporting to Titus so grow up and think

All CEOs report to ministers. Do you think if Nana Akomea wanted to be a minister he wouldn't have it?
Nana Akomea, I really sympathized with you. This are hard times, you really deserve better and should have turn it down outright. Its a shame the party do not no your worth, you deserve better and would advice you you to contest The president for failing to recognize your contribution to the party.
After lying about beneficiaries of Woyome cash, you are dump like a refuse and left with no choice than to report to small boy Titus sardine
Pls be informed that the NPP came to power to revive Ghana so where who works is not the issue but to work as a team for a common goal. Remember we need people like this man which you have confirmed his competence to revive a dead company like STC for Ghana to work again. thanks
Master you were used and dumped at a dead company. You are certainly bigger than that position, reporting to deputy minister of transport Titus Glover what!!!, This is a face saving comment from you, and if i were you, i would have rejected that use-le-ss post. I really admired you but for this position is no no.
