Davis Opoku Ansah, aide to Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen, has dispelled rumours of any resignations by his boss.
The al-Hajj newspaper claimed the thrice-failed New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer had virtually been reduced to a “lame duck” minister in the Akufo-Addo government as he is without “clout and respect”.
The paper also alleged that Mr Kyerematen was unhappy as he has no authority and control over appointments of heads of agencies and institutions under his ministry.
But Mr Ansah, in a post on his Facebook wall on Tuesday May 2, urged the public to “ignore such lies”.
He said Mr Kyerematen was “comfortable with his role and relation with the President”. He explained that the minister was out of the country and was involved in preparations ahead of the trip by Mr Akufo-Addo to the West African sub-region.
Mr Ansah emphasised: “Nana Addo believes in Alan and Alan believes in Nana Addo and his style of leadership”.
