Former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Ambassador Victor Smith has explained that the party's Founder and Chairman of the Council of Elders, former President Jerry John Rawlings is partly to be blamed for the NDC's abysmal performance in the 2016 general elections.
Speaking on Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia's Programme, the former spokesperson for the Rawlingses explained that as a leader of the party, he should have considered the interest of the party before doing things which endangered the party's chances in 2016 general elections.
Meanwhile, the Kwesi Botchwey Committee of the NDC which was set to investigate the poor performance of the party in the 2016 general elections is yet to present its committee reports to the party leadership.

Didn't he tell you people to stop stealing? Didn't you people call him a barking dog? This means you people are not prepared to change from your corrupt ways. If you blame Rawlings. Had you followed his advice, you would not have lost.
How can you now refer to him as the leader of the party when Asiedu Nketia called him a barking dog; what did you guys do about it? You lost because of your incompetence, ego, corruption and abuse of power.
NDC lost bcos of corruption, bribery, greediness and incompetence of John Mahama and his appointees
Asem get it into your heads that the rawlings's are not gods. They can be critized and commended.
This man is making a ***barred word*** of himself but he think he s tarnishing the image of Rawlings. You are not as popular as Rawlings, the more you talk about The Rawlings, the more you create enemies for yourself and destroying your political career
