NDC Member of Parliament for the Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak is angered by the comment of the Upper Denkyira West District Chief Executive, Daniel Appianing over the gruesome murder of Captain Maxwell Mahama.
According to the Kumbungu lawmaker, it is a disappointment to hear the District Chief Executive (DCE) ignorantly pass such a comment about the lynched military officer who was sent by the state to do a national assignment.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper Denkyira West reacting to the murder of the military captain by some residents of Denkyira Boase in the central Region asserted that the leader had led a military detachment to the community to protect some Chinese engaging in illegal mining (galamsey) in Upper Wassa Forest.
The DCE rather expressed shock at the statement of the military that Captain Maxwell Mahama was the ‘detachment commander of 5th Infantry Batallion (5BN), as there is no military base or barracks in the area hosting the military detachment.
“There is a large number of military personnel protecting the Chinese that the lynched soldier is alleged to be part of it, in fact he is said to be the leader . . . I am shocked they are not briefing you very well but rather claiming they are here to fight galamseyers,” he said.
He further challenged persons who doubt his claim to contact the police and BNI commanders in his district for confirmation.
“As I speak, there are reports that the BNI is calling on the military to help stop it because it is creating disaffection between the residents and the military,” he stressed.
But responding to the DCE’s claim, Hon. Ras Mubarak on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show fumed saying “I am disappointed at the DCE and if he survives as DCE, I will be disappointed in this government. The DCE doesn’t know what he is talking about and I think he should be interrogated.”
“His submission is wrong because the only mining company in the town is from Canada and not China. He was on air saying the guy is protecting Chinese illegal mining company; that company is a Canadian company and so the DCE doesn’t know what he is talking about,” he indicated.
He reiterated that it will be a disappointment if the DCE is not sacked from his position as he has deepened the pain of the deceased family with his comment.
“This gentleman is a military officer, someone who has sworn to protect and defend us while we sleep, and then we do this to him and we have a DCE also talking anyhow, trying to justify this barbaric act,” he jabbed.

It is a very sad and gruesome attack on this lovely gentleman, Captain Mahama. I do feel very sad for him to die in such a brutal manner. I heard from the Chairman of NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah for blaming Nana and the Npp for breeding these injustices. Pathetic. If there is someone to be blamed, JJ Rawlings and his so-called AFRC and PNDC should be blamed. Ghanaians were law abiding citizens until the June uprising so Asiedu Nketiah should take note if he was not in Ghana at that time.
So if this noisy makers of the indecisive ndc members claims to be disappointed in H.E Nana Akufo Addo government, so should this become news for mourning mother Ghana? Tweeaaaaaaa; this ***barred word*** propanda talketives made mahama got that 44.4% and their still making noise. Even their evil deeds where praised by some of u media groups. Collins Dauda jnr brother said this categorically that, he has been killing innocent peoples all the time but none of any sensible ndc mp condemned or asked to arrests that murderer but today,
