Seasoned journalist Kwesi Pratt has taken a swipe at the NDC Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, Nii Lante Vanderpuye over his unsavory comment on the imprisonment of Abuga Pele.
Abuga Pele, the former National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA), was sentenced together with the Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill International Group, Philip Assibit, to a combined jail-term of 18 years on various counts, including willfully causing financial loss to the state.
But addressing NDC faithfuls during the party's Unity Walk over the weekend at Somanya in the Eastern Region, Nii Lante Vanderpuye stressed that should the NDC win the general elections in 2020; the party will ensure the release of Abuga Pele.
“It is unfortunate but I can only say that this will not dampen the spirit of the NDC. Between 2001 and 2004, they sentenced Tsatsu Tsikata, Dan Abodakpi, Ibrahim Adam and Kwame Peprah. It did not stop us from winning elections in 2008. We are going to win the elections and bring Abuga Pele out", he stated.
Making his submissions on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Kwesi Pratt expressed disgust over those comments indicating that his disappointment in the MP.
According to him, the statements are at variance with rule of law and so asked what motivated the MP to make such a bold statement knowing very well that it was a court of competent jurisdiction that the former NDC MP to prison.
“Do you have the power to release him?" Mr. Pratt questioned.
He also dismissed claims that the ruling New Patriotic Party was on a witch-hunting agenda, a reason for imprisoning Abuga Pele.
He sought to remind Nii Lante Vanderpuye that it was not the NPP government that summoned Abuga Pele to court but the erstwhile NDC government under the leadership of Ex-President John Dramani Mahama.
In his earnest view, the court has delivered its verdict and so, if the MP and or any person sympathetic towards Abuga Pele could seek an appeal with the Supreme Court to review the verdict if the court finds any merit in their appeal case.
To him, the MP's adamant position not to even retract his comment is very disturbing.
" . . If that’s the issue, we should close all the Police stations. There’s no need for even the courts so that you do what you want to do”.

NDC government is made up of people so intellectually smart, to within a matter of minutes, device means to du`pe the country. They are very good at creating lo~oting and sharing. The judgement debts is one of their creations to du~pe the country. On the other hand NPP government comprises people with mindset geared towards social improvements. People that care about the welfare of the society and its advancement.
O Kwesi...you are not even ashamed to say this. This man paaa...hmmm. Look u guys no matter what you do will not claim credit for Mahama for fighting corruption ooo tom. Abuga and his friend were jailed under Nana period!! Nothing changes that. You can call it witch hunting or wizard hunting Ghanaians ***barred word*** and you and your people will be hunted to pay back the tax payers cash you took. If NPP leaves office same will be meted out to them. We protect our purse. Prat ***barred word***. Mahama is simply corrupt.
Shameful assertion. You supported them to move the 'montie 3' out of prison. Was it not court of competent jurisdiction that sentenced them? hypocricyyyy. you better register for NDC and get a Card so that you can officially talk for them. What Nii Lantey said is a well rehearsed position of NDC. There are other accomplices and Nii Lantey is aware so he doesn't want to incur the wrath of Abuga.
I can vouch that what Nii Lantey said has been discussed by top NDC people. He only came out too early. That is why he is bold enough to say that he will never retract the statement. There is basically no difference to Montie 3 and Abuga Pele's case, according to the gospel of the NDC. The NDC as a party and its executives have no balls to sanction Nii Lante. Just wait and see how things go on.
Massa Kwesi Pratt is a criminal and a hypocrate of the highest order ; who is the braggart kidding upon what we know about past NDC party illigal activities of even murdering people for peanuts ; today see how much they are ***barred word*** from Ghanaians besides the issue of releasing this Abuga Pele from prison have been discussed at the highest meeting of the NDC because like Woyome it was part of a grand create ; lut and share scheme to divert stolen funds into the NDC party ; the truth is that Nii Lante with his 'Okro arrogant mouth' just let the cat out of the bag ; the man was so confident that he knew what he was saying ; the NDC as a party have always attempted to release criminals ; the record is there and what is Kwesi Pratt talking about!!!!!
is it not the same kwesi pratt that formed free tsatsu movement? wht has changed? was tsatsu not jailed by competent court? hypocrisy
So what Kwesi Pratt is trying to say is that they have people that when their matters comes he can bash them ruthlessly and some others that he exercises restraint. ok now we know
