The Chairman of the People’s National Congress (PNC), Mr Bernard Mornah thinks that the "Ghana beyond aid" mantra was a great call which is only a “rhetoric.”
Ghana beyond aid is an agenda that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been championing since he assumed office in 2017 and has pledged to ensure that Ghana becomes self-sufficient.
Ghana relies hugely on donor support for developmental projects and hence President Akufo-Addo’s move to ensure that the country is able to fund its projects from internal resources.
Addressing the 61st Independence Anniversary parade on Tuesday, President Akufo-Addo reiterated, “since I became President, I have been advocating for Ghana to be an African country beyond aid.”

According to the President, the realisation of his vision of Ghana Beyond Aid “requires a deliberate, qualitative change in all aspects of our lives; especially, in the structure of our economy, the nature of our infrastructure, the education of our young people and acquisition of skills, and, above all, in our attitudes and holding firm to the values that define us.”
“Even if there were no aid fatigue, and with the best will in the world and the most charitable governments in place in the so-called donor countries, there will never be enough aid to develop Ghana to the level we want. Aid was never meant to be what would bring us to the status of a developed nation,” he said.
But in a radio interview with Accra based Joy FM on the side-lines of the anniversary parade, the chairman of the People’s National Congress (PNC), Mr Bernard Mornah said the move was a great call which is only a “rhetoric.”
“I see it more of a slogan, more of a rhetoric than any attempt to actualise it. But I know policies have been rolled up for actualisation.

I don't understand why some media houses provide a platform for all kinds of vermin to air their jaundiced views on radio. When the Americans decided to put a man on the moon, they first dreamt of it kept the topic in the public space and finally with great determination did just that.If a country has such dim witted individuals as their leading politicians why wouldn't you be labelled 'shithole 'countries? Why is seeing Ghana living within her means, with her own resources and earnings something that is not possible? These people must stop eating dog-head.
Is this man still the PNC chairman? No wonder the party is in such a disgraceful state. Bernard Mornah sold the party to the NDC for a pick up vehicle.
Prophet of DOOM! But be talks about Nkumah's vision for Ghana. Confused NDC mole!
One of the people with no original idea in his thick skull. He and his like take delight to rubbish other's ideas without offering any alternative. Just blockheads.
LOOK AT THIS R.A.T EATER, WHO SOLD HIS CONSCIENCE FOR THE NDC PARTY. WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT GOVERNANCE?
