The Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has attributed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s intelligence to his continuous reading and learning.
According to him, the Ghanaian leader read different books as a youngster which has helped him (Nana Addo) to become amazingly intelligent today.
Mr Asenso-Boakye therefore admonished the youth, who are the future leaders of the country, to emulate President Akufo-Addo’s shining example by reading many books in order to become intelligent people.
The Deputy Chief of Staff gave the advice to the youth when he donated brand new computers and books to six selected schools in the Bantama Constituency in Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti Region, over the weekend.
The items included a book christened, ‘Grandma Goody’s Story from Gold Coast to Ghana,’ which basically focuses on Ghana’s rich history and how Ghana attained independence.
Mr Asenso-Boakye told the huge crowd at the Bantama MA Methodist School that “Just recently, President Nana Akufo-Addo, during an interview with a certain international press, performed excellently so the interviewer was so impressed and he inquired from Nana Addo about his secrets.
“The president replied that when he was young his father always made sure that he (Nana Akufo-Addo) read a book before he went to bed and that is the secret to his high intelligence level,” he disclosed.
Mr Asenso-Boakye expressed worry about the low level of reading among students, stressing the need for students to make reading of books an integral part of their lives.
The beneficiary schools include Ohwim RC Primary, Bohyen MA Parimary, Bantama MA Methodist, Akosah MA Primary, Bantama Islamic School and Bantama Adoomanu MA Primary.
The historic event was witnessed by Kofi Akpaloo, Founder of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Edmund Kyei, Asokwa NPP First Vice Chairman and Kwame Sarfo Adu, a top NPP member.
Mr Asenso-Boakye stated that the presentation of the items formed part of his efforts to also give back to society.
The Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey-Antwi, emphasized the need for people to invest.
The Bantama Member of Parliament (MP), Daniel Okyem Aboagye, on his part, saluted Mr Asenso-Boakye for contributing significantly to the growth of Bantama, urging him to sustain his good works.

YOU THINK SOME ONE WHO GETS 3RD CLASS IN NOT INTELLIGENT?GOOD INTELLIGENT STUDENTS NORMALLY DON'T DO WELL IN CLASS BECAUSE THEY STUDY THINGS THAT ARE EVEN OUTSIDE THE USUAL SYLLABUS.
Well done Francis and this is what we want from our politicians
hmmm if not in Ghana how can you call someone who has 3 class as intelligent apuutooh, nana has monkey face with monkey intelligent
lol hahaha did you say John Mahama, the communication expert? I can't stop laughing.. Eeei you people will kill us in this country. In any case, a university degree is never a measure of an individual's intelligence. Look that Ghana degree that we got in Legon from Chew and pour means nothing outside Ghana. Even high school kids in other countries are more smarter than Ghana university grads. Many of my colleagues in Legon who finished with poor grades are doing exceptionally well both home and abroad. Ask about the guy who made your apple computers, he didnt even have a university degree. And please don't repeat the John Mahama joke again. Thanks for the laugh tho!
Seriously? You call Nana Addo intelligent? Someone who had a 3rd Class at the university of Ghana. If you are talking about intelligent people in Ghana, you should be talking about Prof. Mills, frm. President John Mahama etc not Nana Addo. Intelligent people dont talk about free education when there are no infrastructures. You site mediocre examples for our young ones to emulate and u think something good will out of them either than mediocrity? Are you serious Mr. ***barred word*** of Staff? Mr Asenso you must come again
Well done but you really missed the point. The President read many books and others must do same and you did not mention where they can go and get the books. Massa the glue is libraries or information centres. I am sure you intentionally forgot to mention libraries as the state of the libraries are just below description. The schools mention do they have libraries?. Please use your office to get public and school libraries revamped to take their rightful place.
