President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed that a total of 998 people work at the seat of government, the Jubilee House in Accra. He made the revelation in a list he presented to Parliament.
The number is some 320 staff more than the 678 employees presented to parliament by the erstwhile John Mahama administration in 2013.
According to the report released to Parliament on the staffing position of the Office of the President for the period January 7, 2017 to December 31, 2017, the office had nine Ministers of State, 27 presidential staffers, 256 Junior Political Appointees and 414 civil and public servants.
The release of the list is in compliance with Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), which requires the President to submit annually to Parliament, a report on the staffing position of the Office of the President.
