The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says he believes most of the people who attended the party’s ‘Unity Walk’ over the weekend in Kumasi are supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said the NDC believe that the supporters are tired of the government that is why they came out in their numbers to support the NDC’s Unity Walk.
There was a massive turnout at NDC’s 8th Unity Walk over the weekend in the Ashanti Regional capital but the governing party has dismissed the huge turnout as “crowd renting”.
Commenting on the issue on Onua FM on Monday, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said, “one-third of those who attended the walk are from NPP who are angry with the government”.
He said the crowd was overwhelming and that shows how disappointed they are in the NPP as a government.
