The Concerned Voters Movement (CVM) has reiterated to Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, that good governance is not about "walking competitions" but the contest of ideas and policies.
The Bolgatanga Central MP, addressing some sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the St. Johns Park in Bolgatanga after the Unity Walk on Saturday, May 5, 2018, indirectly challenged President Akufo-Addo to attempt a 1 kilometre walk if he has the level of energy and stamina Mr. Mahama demonstrated during their walk for unity.
But in a sharp rebuttal, the Founder and President of CVM, Razak Kojo Opoku, indicated that it does not take walking a long journey to govern a country but initiating good policies to improve the lives of the people.
In his words, "Mahama can walk for 1000km. Ghanaians are not interested in such 'useless' walk. After all, the only benefit such walk will do for John Mahama is stamina to lie to Ghanaians."
Describing Isaac Adongo's request as childish, Razak Opoku said such utterances from the Bolga Central MP was "unwholesome, disgraceful and distasteful".
According to him, NPP members vouched for "wise" President Akufo-Addo to go on a mission to deliver good policies to Ghanaians not the long-legged type of former President John Mahama.
"To be a good President is not all about having long-legs like John Mahama. It has rather more to do with showing incorruptible nature, sincere dedication to service, demonstration of credibility, integrity, abundance of intelligence and wisdom, readiness to serve Ghanaians with fullness of farsightedness." He emphasized.
Below is the full statement
Mahama Walked 10km But Cannot envision Beyond 1km----CVM to Isaac Adongo
According to Isaac Adongo, John Mahama walked 10km during their Unity Walk therefore President Akufo-Addo should try a 1km Walk.
This is a very childish request from unwholesome Isaac Adongo, a man who utterances lately has become disgraceful and distasteful.
Good Governance is not about walking competition rather competition of Ideas.
Mahama can walk for 1000km, Ghanaians are not interested in such useless walk, after all the only benefit such walk will do for John Mahama is stamina to lie to Ghanaians.
The followers of John Mahama only believe in sending a long-legged Mahama on a 10km impossible mission to the Jubilee House rather than electing a wise person as the NDC 2020 Presidential Candidate.
On the other hand, members of NPP send out a wise person (President Akufo-Addo) on a mission/errand to deliver good policies and programmes to Ghanaians but not the long-legged type of John Mahama.
"NPP soma 3ba nyansanin na yen nnsoma annamon tenten"
President Akufo-Addo has not walk for 10km but he has been able to restore every policy 'Annamon Tenten' John Mahama cancelled.
President Akufo-Addo has not walk for 10km but he has solved Dumsor that 'Annamon Tenten' John Mahama couldn't solve.
President Akufo-Addo has not walk for 10km but he has contributed to solving unemployment with NABCO, NEIP, Planting for Food and Jobs etc.
President Akufo-Addo has not walk for 10km but his reasoning and vsion goes beyond trillion km.
John Mahama's followers have legs to walk for 10km but no brains to think beyond 1km to positively transform the lives of Ghanaians.
To be a good President is not all about having long-legs like John Mahama. It has rather more to do with showing incorruptible nature, sincere dedication to service, demonstration of credibility, integrity, abundance of intelligence and wisdom, readiness to serve Ghanaians with fullness of farsightedness.

I think that there should be a way to measure the IQ of persons who want to be a president, parliamentarian, DCE's, Ministers etc. When minds that are suppose to take decisions for the comfort of the masses speaks like this then I wonder what he can offer for his people.
I'm happy we have these I d iotic fu oooooools as opposition. They will spend 20 years in opposition
Everyone and group is trying hard to stay relevant in this era of INCOMPETENT NPP Govt. There's chaos everywhere in this country so anybody gets up to form stup-i-d groups to collect their share of the booty and defend this vision-less NPP govt. The Concerned Voters Movement, MY FOOT. CHOP-CHOP going on everywhere. KICK-OUT NPP in 2020.
Hardly do I comment on issues here but I am forced to comment today. I doubt the MP said this. If he did then it is very unfortunate to come from an MP. The is childish and unpaliamentarian. How do you make good laws if you have such childish mind. An ex American president was in a wheelchair chair but was one of the greatest. So does it mean our president has lost his brain if he can not walk? Governance is about GOOD policies that improves the life of its citizens BUT NOT the distance one walks. Will I be a good president if I can walk 1 million kilometers but be engulfed in injustices, corruption, bad Human Rights, abuse of power, etc? Well, this is the type of leaders we have in Ghana. No wonder we are backward.
OF COURSE it is about stamina! If the president is so weak, it affords the Ministers the opportunity to misbehave with abandon! That's what's made Ghana like a cesspool!
Look at this funny waste of space of an opposition they called themselves NDC. Instead of you to build a strong opposition and keep the government on its toe and check corruptions in the system you left behind. They are rather busy having a keep fit walk branded as Unity Walk, but not talking about their unity rather making noise on NPP. God save us with a good opposition party. Ekow
