The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has challenged President Akufo-Addo to a 1 kilometre walk following the successful completion of over 10 kilometre walk by former President John Dramani Mahama during the NDC's Unity Walk on Saturday.
The legislator, addressing some sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the St. Johns Park in Bolgatanga after the Unity Walk on Saturday, May 5, 2018 asked the President to attempt a 1 kilometre walk if he has the level of energy and stamina Mr. Mahama demonstrated during their walk for unity.
Mr. Adongo in his welcome speech stated that voting former President Mahama out of power in past one and half years by Ghanaians meant throwing away the treasure that he was. He added that the NDC fraternity also lost a personality.
He was, however, quick to add that the return of Mr. Mahama, and his active participation in events of the NDC is the beginning of greater things for the party.
He said the show of resilience, energy, enthusiasm and stamina by Mr. Mahama and the party during the Unity Walk is clear manifestation that the NDC will not die but bounce back to glory in election 2020.
“On behalf of the party in the region, I will like to welcome all of you particularly our distinguished guest, his Excellency and forever Excellency and will be back Excellency, John Dramani Mahama…. Today is a very important day for the NDC family. This is the day we have seen what we lost over the last one and half years. Over the last one and half years, the people of Ghana have lost a treasure in John Dramani Mahama and the NDC has lost something we cannot find and it is a big privilege to see him. With the level of resilience and energy in the unity walk.
“And what you have seen signifies the resilience of the NDC. When they say the NDC will die, that is when the NDC germinates and today, you have seen the resilience, stamina of the NDC. With this stamina, nobody can stop the NDC in 2020 Isha Allahu,” Mr. Adongo said.
Speaking on the banking sector, Mr. Adongo said the inability of government to create an enabling environment for domestic banks to thrive has made Mobile Money a better choice in transacting business in Ghana. He said unlike the Mobile Money system, banks in Ghana are collapsing under the full glare and leadership of President Akufo-Addo.
“Today, when you have a mobile money account; when you have a vodaphone mobile money account, it will not collapse. When you have an MTN mobile money account it will not collapse. When you have Airtel mobile money account it is safe, when you have a bank account it is the worse and riskiest account to have,” he stated.

Adongo or whatever you are called having the privilege to have had free education and finding yourself where you’re now do not give you room to think you have arrived and therefore be arrogantly disrespectful. Check yourself okay
Massa;why does not these so called NDC MP's just advance what they will when they come to power rather than these mediocre outburst shallow statements ; if walking and runnig long distances were a measure of economic success ; the Ethiopians will be the most developed nation on earth because they always win the long distance running and walking anywhere in the world ; we need leaders who can THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX ;and create wealth for Ghana not these northner thiffs besides you call this thing called Adongo an MP ; so what did Jon Mahama achieve for Ghana by walking 10 Km and how do you compare Jon Mahama to Nana Addo age wise; intergrity wise and ability to lead a nation and think because all Jon mahama and the NDC know is to organising so called Unity walks to plan how they can still even bigger when they are voted into power again ;NO GHANAIAN WILL WASTE THEIR VOTE ON JON MAHAMA AGAIN !!!! !!!!!
GN BANK will get you.Go pay your debt Adonko and stop walking. We will allow Mahama compete in the next Olympic games.
Adonko you think the president is MAD.Or you think Prez. Akuffo Addo is a"MOVIE STAR PRESIDENT".Massa in 2016 how many times did mahama walk?Wait till 2020 and you will see the REAL DUDE called "AKUFFO ADDO"
some times i feel ashamed and bow my head down when NDC members open their mouth and talk . To think that these people were once handling the affairs of this Nation God has mercy on us
HOW MANY KM DO MAD PEOPLE WALK IN A DAY.ASK ADONKO
Governance is by vision and strategic thinking and commitment. It is not about walking.
Walking a 100 km does not make you a good leader. This is the same thing you guys did to Atta Mills by making him run on the tarmac of KIA when he was sick. Pure f00lishness. What does what you said help Ghana in anyway. Purr ***barred word***
This man paa u f00l papa, how can an MP. Talk childishly like that, what has good governce got to do with walking. All this ppl call themselves MP, I’m ashamed.Mahama will continue to walk and even start running but will still be a loser in 2020. ***barred word*** party
Hw3 ne se apro ! This Adongo man is suffering from eating mad dog's head. He talks anyhow. Such people think Ghanaians must f000lis*hly vote for his prefered president so he can be a minister, aaaah ewiase! Ghana paaaani! Akom ko ! This one too want to talk for us to listen, if physical strength is what makes a man a good president then I think Nana Addo is much the best. Look at him at age 73 and compare him to John mahama at 60 and the difference is clear. Physically Nana Addo has the strength look at his physics very firm and strong body , he was a boxer and a footballer in his youthful time and that keeps him going, and what about John mahama what sports event did he take during his youthful time? All he new was women, wee, alcohol and childish talks. He even raped somebody in High school and such a guy somebody is recommending . Adongo is sick in his kind
