Former National Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ntim, has indicated that he will not give up in the race for the national chairmanship position of the party.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday in Accra where he officially launched his campaign, Mr Ntim said, “I have feelings and vision for the party, and until the party gives me the opportunity to roll out my vision, I will not give up.”

He also touched on job creation, youth empowerment and consolidation of power for the NPP in 2020 and beyond.

The aspirant disclosed that the elders and founding members of the party had been marginalized.

He indicated that they deserve better treatment from the party, adding that he would ensure that the aged members of the party are given special treatment.

Mr Ntim pointed out that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) had dominated the media landscape, adding that the party has dictated the political agenda for far too long.

He revealed that he would revamp the communication system of the party so that the usual practice whereby the NDC sets the agenda on national issues is eradicated.

“When elected into office as chairman, I will visit the party’s communication department and audit their system to find out their challenges and problems. I will make sure they articulate their challenges and then work hard with them to provide lasting solutions for them so as to equip them to discharge their duties effectively,” Mr Ntim disclosed.

He denied reports that his campaign team had confrontation with President Akufo-Addo, saying, “That issue has been dealt with and I won’t go back to it again.”

He said he would ensure that Nasara, Women, TESCON and Youth wings of the party are properly equipped to discharge their duties effectively.

Touching on the loyalty of party’s faithful, he stressed the need for them to be rewarded.

He said, “The unwritten tradition of loyalty, dedication, commitment, hard work and long service must be seen to be working at all times.”

Mr Ntim lauded members of the campaign team for performing creditably.

He said, “From all indications, delegates are not merely chanting ‘Time Aso,’ but are resolved to vote for Stephen Ntim massively.”
