Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reacted to the post-resignation comments by Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), Akua Blakofe, saying the latter's utterances are becoming "annoying" and smacks of someone who has "a more sinister motive" for quitting her job.
Akua Blakofe tendered her resignation about two weeks ago over what she describes as massive corruption at GTDC.
But Gabby's apparent anger stems from assertions by the resigned Deputy GTDC CEO that she has been targeted for elimination and no longer feels safe in the country, because she told truth to power.
“We woke up one morning to news that Fennec had been murdered. We woke to news JB Danquah had been murdered. We woke up to news about the young bank worker who was murdered. These are just 3 examples. Till date, no real concrete suspects have been dealt with. We don't know what issues they had. I'm putting all my issues out on social media so if you wake to the news that I've been murdered or dead all of a sudden, you have a clue where to begin investigations. I really don't see why we should get to this level. It means I'm speaking the truth and they need to get rid of me. I weep for Ghana. Truly it's an Asylum,” she wrote on her Facebook wall.
In a sharp response to this via the same medium, Gabby fired: "these are some of the little things that piss NPP folks right off. You joined the campaign at the very end. You were first seen to be pro-Mahama, but apparently fell out over what exactly we don’t know. The leadership acknowledged your campaign contribution and your value and rewarded you with an appointment to help your country. You resigned on principle and, in fact, won a lot of admiration (from me and many others) for that. But, now it seems like you want to start a whole negative campaign against the government. Who would want to kill you, Madam? Let’s get serious! Frankly, your utterances are getting annoying and making people feel that you have a more sinister motive. I hope not..."

Gabby SHAME ON YOU!!! if u knew she was pro-Mahama, why did u give her post as reward for political prrrroooositution???? U in NPP are as stuuuuuupppppiddddd & fokkking as the NDC ppl u claim to be better than
I simply agree with you Gabby...to me this woman is too petty and full of hypocrisy...many are we who fought with our last drop of blood to make sure NPP come to power, the party hierarchy is yet to recognize us.....you're so fortunate to have been recognized and you say...no one has your time please!
It has become a trade mark for NPP, if anybody does not agree with them then they they will threaten assassination and murder, they are so desperate, it all started with akufo addo. Honestly, AKUFO ADDO WOULD BE DISGRACED OUT OF POWER WITH THE WAY HE WANTS TO BULL-DOZE HIS WAY THROUGH
Gabby I do support your argument on this matter.
@YAW, Wait until it happens to you. These NPP fanatics can do anything for power or to maintain power. They simply hate negative news about them and will do anything even murder. I am not surprise at all. As for Gabby, he is so so annoying to say the least. Anyway have you solved your problems with the KING?
I simply hate people like this lady and my reason is, people of this caliber are more deadly than the word corruption it self. Akua untill you tell the whole world exactly what you have seen, don't expect any sympathy from us. Tell us what exactly happened and who did what? That can gives us clue about who may be after your life.
the evil that men do lives after them . u used her for sinister motives against mahama and she is now use to it. it is time to use the skill u thought her against u now . so stop whining and wait for your dose.
its all politics , either you in it or out of it. African politics is hard !!!
Gabby, do you expect her to keep quiet if she feels threatened? One would have thought that the authorities that be would invite her even though she has gone to social media. You should remember that you are not the only one who voted for the NPP to come to power. I have commented elsewhere that some of us are floating voters and that we vote on the trend of governance in the country. Stop being petty now that you are enjoying some for of power.
Okay
