Seasoned Journalist, Kwesi Pratt has lambasted critics who condemn investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, for unearthing corruption in the nation.
According to him, Anas' work is relevant to the progress of the nation and stated emphatically that he will never denigrate the undercover Journalist for exercising his duties.
Though admitting that his (Anas) modus operandi for exposing corrupt individuals and institutions is against the ethics of his profession, Mr. Pratt wondered why the country has several security institutions that have failed to do the work of Anas.
Kwesi Pratt told host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's Kokrokoo that he will "never stand anywhere, private or public, to condemn Anas. What moral authority do we have to condemn Anas? We don’t have it".
To him, Anas is doing what the security agencies have failed to do, despite the dangers associated with the work.
"Anas Aremeyaw Anas is tending to be one of the most courageous people walking the surface of the earth this time, and I admire his courage,” he said.
“What happened to National security? What happened to all these big institutions and so on? To what extent are they able to protect us and hold aloft the banner of national integrity, and so on?” he expressed disappointment in the security services.
