Participants at a day's forum on the Right to Information (RTI) have unequivocally reaffirmed their commitment to the campaign for the passage of the RTI bill into law.
Participants say this would enhance good governance, transparency, accountability and Anti-Corruption.
The participants also declared their support for press freedom linked with freedom of information as indispensable for Democratic constitutional governance.
They passed a three point resolution at the end of a day's training programme on RTI bill for more than fifty journalists in the Western Region.
The forum organized under the auspices of the Accountable Democratic Institution and Systems Strengthening (ADISS) Project, took the participants through, Principles of the RTI Bill and walk through the RTI Bill 2018.
They also called on parliament to invite the Minister for the Interior to brief parliament on processes towards addressing cases of assault on media personal currently under investigations.
