Constituency Chairmen in the Ashanti Region have recommitted themselves towards working hard to ensure that the acting National Chairman of the ruling NPP, Mr. Freddy Blay becomes chairman of the party.

According to the Chairmen, they are okay with the leadership of Chairman Blay following his sterling performance in keeping the party united during difficult times leading to the 2016 victory.

The NPP Constituency Chairmen, who visited the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Wontumi at his plush Atasomanso residence to pledge their allegiance, said though they could not deliver hundred percent for the regional chairman during the regional elections, they had learnt their lessons and would leave nothing to chance in ensuring victory for Mr. Blay.

"We know we disappointed you in the regional elections and many are even questioning our source of influence. But we want to assure you and Chairman Blay that Ashanti region, is solidly behind his candidature and would deliver for him come July 8", they pledged.

They observed that there is no point changing a winning team, asserting that Chairman Blay has steered the affairs of the party well as an acting national chairman and therefore deserves the ultimate.

Chairman Wontumi on his part, commended the Chairmen for their decision but insisted that one can only be part of the winning team.

According to him, as far as things are concerned, Mr. Blay is already the national chairman by God's Grace and that anyone who challenges him is fighting a losing battle.

"Its good you have seen the light and decided to follow. Mr. Blay God willing will be sworn in as the National Chairman after the elections. He will lead the NPP to another resounding victory in 2020" Chairman Wontumi noted
