Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Atwima Nwabiagya South district in the Ashanti region in the erstwhile Mahama led NDC administration Hon. Nana Asare Bediako popularly known in his political career as Obama has pulled out from the party’s Ashanti regional organizer race.
“To all my supporters and sympathisers, I want to thank you for your support. To the grassroots of our party who wished me well, thank you for your encouragement. And to all the members of my team, I thank you for your dedication. To all and sundry, I apologise for any inconvenience my decision have caused you,” Hon Obama said.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Nana Kwabena Agyeman (Agyengo) on Otec Fm’s late afternoon political talk show dubbed ‘DWABIREM’, the vibrant former DCE explained that his decision comes after consultation with his advisers to step down in the interest of the opposition NDC.
According to Hon Obama, he has decided to step down to enable him work for the party off any position to win power in 2020.
Hon Obama however wishes all aspiring candidates well and calls for a peaceful campaign and elections to strengthened their unity ahead of the 2020 polls.
