The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been urged to rethink its decision to elect former President John Mahama as its flagbearer ahead of the 2020 general elections.

According to Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah, the ex-president “is finished politically and will lose every election he contests”.

“Bring him a thousand times, and he will lose a thousand times. He is done with his job. I’m telling you, God removed him from the presidential seat and he is finished” he noted on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday.

His comment comes at a time a lot of party members are rooting for Mr. Mahama’s comeback. Some Members of Parliament have started campaign for him to contest the NDC’s flagbearership contest.

In their view, former President Mahama is their best bet to win the 2020 general elections.

But speaking Prophet Owusu Bempah said the NDC will lose the election with or without Mahama as flagbearer.

In the spiritual realm, he said John Mahama is just like former Presidents John Kufuor and Jerry Rawlings who are now statesmen.

The outspoken prophet stated unequivocally that, Mr. Mahama can never be President of Ghana.

He charged members of the NDC to dare him on what he said and “I will prove to them that God is alive”.

Prophet Owusu Bempah was certain President Akufo-Addo will win the 2020 general elections.

“Akufo-Addo’s presidency was sanctioned by God and no man can change it” he added.
