Energy Minister John Peter Amewu, has served notice to all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of state institutions under his ministry that he will not hesitate to sack them if they fail to listen to him.
Mr. Amewu issued the warning after CEOs of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas), and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), failed to show up for a scheduled visit to the Aboadze Terminal Plant, even though they had been informed ahead of time.
The Minister could not understand why the CEOs asked their respective heads of department to represent them instead of being there themselves.
He wondered what could be more important than taking a decision to prevent government from losing US$40million every month if the Karpower plant at Tema is not relocated to Aboadze, for which reason he convened the meeting to deliberate over it.
“These CEOs in this country, it is time something is done seriously about them, and for me, I am not going to sit down and work with Chief Executives that will not be prepared to listen to me. Before I am gone, a Chief Executive will go; I am not going to entertain that,” he told the gathering at the programme in the Western Region.
The Energy Minister’s tour also took him to the Tema-Takoradi Interconnection Project which birthed a regulatory and metering station and the Aboadze Power Enclave.
He also visited the Ameri Power Plant which is being run by Metka. His last stop was at the Western Naval base in Sekondi where the facility will finally be stationed.

These EWE ***barred word*** must keep quiet for Us to loot the state . We will treat you like that PEPE woman and make you an ambassador to KYEBI in our next ministerial shake up
Don't play that primiiiiiitive card of tribal bigotry here This is definitely coming from an NDC supporter. Bent on to use any diabolic means to make the opponent look bad. This is ***barred word*** and you can push it into your shithole.
If the CEO is more powerful than the minister then Ghana 'due ni amanehunu!!!!'
Listen to that Ewe ***barred word*** threatening to sack an Ashantis stealing government money. Who are you in our NPP
Amewu talks too much sometimes.
Ghanaians should pray for Peter Amewu. Ghana needs men of this calibre. Do your utmost best. You will be rewarded by GOD.
Amewu is the man of the moment. Clear all of them from the system if they are not ready to work for the common good of the Ghanaian people. Ride on my man!
These CEOs will stop everything they might be doing to go on foreign trips because then they get to go with their assistants/sidekicks for lavish spending on the account of the SOEs on hotels and per diems. How much per diem were they going to get going around with you in Ghana? Could they get to spend some secret times with their personal assistants when they're on the rounds in Ghana with you? These are their important considerations, not the fact that there are decisions to work on. Ghana is sick with these CEO'S things.
Who is K.K. Sarpong. That man should be fired. Nana pls let Ghanaians see your fair, firm and no ***barred word*** nature. He is running GNPC as if its his property.
