Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sliced the party's General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia into pieces, describing him as "arrogant" and very disrespectful.
He stated emphatically that the insubordination of the General Secretary keeps escalating and therefore needs to be addressed.
Allotey Jacobs stood up to Asiedu Nketia, popularly called General Mosquito during Peace FM's Kokrokoo claiming there is a calculated attempt by the party's Chief Scribe and others to destroy the NDC.
Addressing the character of the General Secretary, Allotey Jacobs alluded to an incident that occurred at function organized by the party's executive Committee saying Asiedu Nketia forcibly seized a microphone from the National Chairman, Kofi Portuphy, when he was speaking to the executives.
Allotey dared to expose Asiedu Nketia if he doesn't stop his arrogant behaviour saying "I know him. When it reaches the time for me to talk, I will and you know, Allotey will say it as it is. People don’t know what we have gone through…Don’t allow people to destroy what you have built”.
“I believe that Asiedu Nketia has become arrogant. How is it that we’re in meeting and our National Chairman is holding the microphone, then you go and seize the microphone from him;…Is that sign of respect for leadership, when you know that in opposition the National Chairman is the leader of the party? This incident happened in the presence of other national executive officers of the party and no one can deny this.”
“I have a lot of things to say about Asiedu Nketia at the right time and he knows that me, Allotey Jacobs will say it as it is. Asiedu Nketia’s time is up, he must go.....And I have said if care is not taken, this is the beginning and the end...it is a campaign inside the party that they’re using to destroy us but I know him", he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.
