Former National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi says Ghana is not as ‘hard’ as the opposition NDC is purporting.
He was emphatic that “there is no hardship in Ghana” – after praising the Nana Addo-led government style of governance to change things for good.
His comment comes after some members of the opposition party said Ghanaians may experience severe hardship akin to that which occurred in 1983, if government continues with the current path it has taken in its management of the economy.
But Adomako Baafi argued that the introduction of some government policies is rather making things easier for the average Ghanaian.
He mentioned the ‘Free SHS’ and the “double track system’ as a “burden reliever” on parents who could not afford their wards tuition fee in John Mahama’s era as President.
“Today, the poor woman in the village who could not afford school fees for her children is happy because of free SHS. Today those in the village are gaining admission to some brilliant schools in the cities because of this double tracking system. Where is the hardship comparing to NDC’s era?” he questioned in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
Adomako Baafi also heaped praise on the government for solving the country’s energy crisis which led many companies collapsed under the NDC regime.
“Which hardship surpasses the 'Dumsor Dumsor' during the NDC time? Yes, things are a bit hard now but there’s no extreme hardship in Ghana as the NDC is saying,” he said.
Commenting on the fuel price hike, he said “It is worrying but what would the NDC have done if they were to be in power? The situation of fuel hike is not controlled here. They messed up with the economy and that is the price we are paying now.”
He assured that the Nana Addo-led government is working around the clock to stabilize the economy.

Ndcfuo, if there is hardship 2020 vote as usual fir the ndc and see if your party will come back to power and those who are grateful to this government for their good policies also will vote to sustain the policies and we see of the 2 parties who will win. if I were an ndc member knowing Ghana is much harder than when ndc was around ,I will just sh*t up and pray for 200 to come and vote for my ndc that's all! why the insults and the name calling, why are you ripping your toes and bleeding? it's not going to solve any problem for the ndc, because if loud mouth and insults win elections ndc might be in power now as Prof. Kojo Yankah said! If JM TOASO, ONAAPO couldn't retain you then what else? if ndc think they didn't do nothing wrong they should sh*t up and sit on their a$$es for Ghanaians to vote for them. Let me remind them, the days they trooped to their HQs and lined up for cash is gone and gone forever so they will face real hardship and hunger and they shouldn't take their laziness and hardship as Ghanaians and Ghana facing that. The result of laziness is hardship and poverty! this government has created planting for food and jobs, mass cocoa spraying, Agric extention officers and recruitment of the police force and you sit on your a$$ expecting Akufo Addo to handout money for you de3 you will die out of starvation. Ndc are too lazy, and they think doing nothing but going from radio station to the other and sitting behind computers and insulting and posting offensive stories will help their come back is up to them, if they haven't learnt of their massive and humiliating defeat which signaled that Ghanaians are discerning and can't be taken for granted then it is their own cup of tea, they will rot in opposition.
I wonder how some people can talk like this. What kind of communication skills did this chap learn in school? May be he is living in a different part of Ghana and not the Ghana we live in! My brother, if you have nothing good to tell Ghanaians at least, do the honourable thing by not insulting us.
It is not the NDC that talks of hardship, but Ghanaians. Is Kennedy Agyapong in NDC? No. But he also complains of hardship under Akufo Addo's governance. It is time the NPP stop using free SHS to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians as if everything is OK. What's the percentage of Ghanaians enjoying the free SHS? How can a minority enjoy a policy for majority to be put into untold hardship and you count this policy an achievement?
don't worry we are all passaby . one day we will all die whether rich or poor. continue ur evil talks
That is why he is the Former National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),,................ case closed. In anycase, from where he is sitting, he can't see hardship so why the fuss. Afterall fuel prices have been reduced, electricity tariffs have been reduced, water tariffs have been reduced, minimum earning wage has doubled all in 2 yrs of the most usi.less governance structure in the world, so no hardship. I concur.............. and let the fuols say, YEAH, YEAH.
This is exactly why I wanted this guy removed as the communication director of the NPP. How can you make such a blanket statement that there's no hardship in Ghana. Even in the United States there is hardship. Have you read the latest GSS report that puts the number of people in Ghana who cannot afford $1.00 per day at 6.8 million? Adomako, we know how hard the president and his team are working to fix the myriad challenges that confront this nation. Please "SHAT UP" and let them work for us.
Mr Communications Director, don't insult us with this kind of talk. You could lose your job over this. You don't have to let the NDC force you into saying things that will insult Ghanaians. Please find a smarter way to handle the NDC because they are not going anywhere, You will always have to deal with them, But please don't insult us. What you have said is not different from what the NDC is saying. Both of you are on the extreme end. Please wise up
I don't blame him we voted for them this hardship in the country
No hardship??? YES. Because you have your asss in the booooty, so you can never see the hardship.. How many Ghanaians youth are on highway killer sun selling yam on their arms , just to make a living ? May God punish you for such mislead.. Indeed Stupiiid people are ruling this lovely land !!
peacefm online please and please check your head line it does not tally with the body, you know ghanaians do not read so you just put a headline and attribute to some people and others just read the headline and they start insulting others for free, the almighty is watching.
