A flagbearer aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus “Goosie” Obuadum Tanoh, says the current Ghana’s “economy is very vulnerable”.
He said for the economy to survive, government must direct its policies towards ensuring that Ghana produce and consume its goods.
Mr. Tandoh made the observations in an interview with Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Monday, September 17, 2018.
“It is not the oil that will make the economy resilient. It is the goods and services that we produce and all our designs and policies must be towards producing and consuming things locally”, he explained.
According to him, Ghana as a country has been addicted to the level of de-industrialization and that everything must come from abroad and that is what is bringing the weakness in the cedi against the dollar.
“We need the dollar to survive. We demand dollars than we do to the cedi, but our economy is not responding to producing things that we need locally. We import rice, tomatoes paste. Unfortunately, everything is imported so it affects every government”. -he added.

Goosie you are right.
Another irrational zombie.
Is that your best shot....the reason why we should vote for you to become president. Not good enough man because what you preach doesn't exist. We want some brilliant ideas from you guys but you are struggling to come up with anything meaningful. The whole bunch of you guys. Are you guys sure you really want power because the old tricks don't work anymore. We want people who will offer us something great to chew on. The CPP is gone to bed because after Nkrumah no one could come up anything other than what Nkrumah would have done if he were alive. Unfortunately the oldman is long dead and gone. The NDC should stop the propaganda and start doing serious thinking. Your survival may depend on it.
Mr Okusie Tanor if you want to go Mr Babin's way and copy his style of talking then wait, you will drop out before your party's national conference. If Ghana is unsafe move on to another country when is safe then you come. This is poppy talk, please grow up and get away with your Oguaabroni face.
If you don't feel safe in Ghana, why don't you leave? By the way, how different are the conditions now from what pertained 2 years ago when another government was in power?
we are at war??????
Where from this one. Want to be heard. Dont expose your ignorance my freind.
Your party was in power for 8 years and could not build the industries that will produce what we consume. Rather we had domsor which led to the collapse of the few existing industries.
