Former Member of Parliament [MP] for Techiman South constituency Mr. Adjei Mensah has said the attitude been shown the Auditor-General, Daniel Yao Domelevo by the NPP government portrays a swift approach to get him removed from office.
“President Akufo-Addo and his government don’t feel comfortable working with the Auditor General, but because they have not found any fault with him in his line of duty, they want to torment him . . .” he said.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo and his government know very well they will have no chance indulging in corrupt practices under this Auditor-General and as such have deliberately decided to use other political means in getting rid of him.
“I pity the Auditor-General for being perceived dreadful with a perfect conscience,” he added.
Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme Monday, Adjei Mensah urged leaders of our country to desist from paving way for foreign investors to have upper hand on transactions of the state when a Ghanaian can as well do the same thing.
“We always find fault when a fellow Ghanaian is embarking on a project but hails a foreigner who comes in to do same at a huge cost. In fact, it saddens my heart that every policy in our system now is anti-Ghanaian all in the name of money, when money is not all we need in life,” he said.
However, according to Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a former MP for Bantama on the same show, he does not understand what Mr Daniel Yao Domelevo wants again as he keeps on making public utterances after serving the President with a petition about the storm he is facing in his office with regards to his Board Chairman, Prof Dua Agyeman.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Efutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has charged the Auditor-General and the chairman of the Audit Service Board to refrain from making public pronouncement on petitions from both parties which are the subject of investigation by a committee set up by President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, their comments could be prejudicial and has the potential to result in undue hatred for them.
