Kwesi Pratt, Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, says Ghanaians are suffering under the Akufo-Addo government.
Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwesi Pratt wondered why leaders of the nation are toying with the lives of Ghanaians by playing politics with the economy.
The downward spiral of the cedi against the U.S. dollar and other major currencies, as well as the prevailing harsh economic environment, has been a source of bother to the general public, most especially business operators.
The local currency has neared the GHS5: US$1 mark.
The frequent increase in the price of fuel has also worsened the situation
Commenting on the recent hikes in fuel prices, the seasoned journalist asked why the leaders and socio-economic commentators instead of addressing the plight of the citizenry, rather go about trading in terminologies and using jargons to confuse Ghanaians.
Terms like "GDP percentage, debt ratio and so forth"; he wondered if such would bring bread and butter to the table.
He therefore called on the government to address concerns of Ghanaians on the fuel price increment and cedi depreciation among others by fixing the economy, saying "we’re suffering. The President has admitted that we’re suffering. So, where from the percentage of GDP, debt ratio and so forth; it’s all not taking us forward but we keep retrogressing? That is the point! So, these things we say don’t help anyone. It doesn’t help the government. It doesn’t help opposition. It helps nobody”.

kwasi pratt, return the wayomi monies and all n,d,c properties them have given you, it is the properties of ghana people, kwasi the hypocrite, gh pp
Eii, this world is full of surprises. When they were given you 4 x 4 vehicles to the extent that you could give some out to your children, all was well. The effect of your ***barred word*** brigade is what we are seeing now. You thought it was going to be all rosy with NDC and giving you free monies and freebies. No proper business person in Ghana is complaining because they were on their own already. Only those of you who were milking the state dry are now suffering bcos your supply chain has ended,
Dear Mr. Kwasi Pratt, why won't you suffer? We were here in this country when you were parading your sorry self in V8 without working for it. Now you ain't getting freebies again so you are suffering. anyways Mr. Mahama still has a lot of the money he stole so go to him for help. I am sure he'll be glad to give you more cash. but please note he might not be able to give you another V8 but sure he could give you money for food
did you ever say this during drosmanis time? of course your free money has stopped coming so you are now suffering. for some of us duka daya. ***barred word***
Somebody ask Kwesi Pratt when dumsor was reigning during his party ndc time and Dr Kwame Despite and his brother of Despite group of companies were buying fuel for their generators at peacefm for him to go there and say massa, massa were they buying it for ghc 1.00 he should tell us? and today. when he goes to peacefm does he hear the sound or noise of any generator? if not then Onyame betua one ne ndcfuo nyinaa ka including their ex president turned flagbearer candidate. If not John mahama who will do this in Ghana? from former president to flagbearer candidate aaah! John mahama is cheap papa! something Nana Akufo Addo or President Kuffuor will never do, kai, be called a former president and making a u turn to become a candidate where will this happen apart from Gonja and the ndc with a lot of weird surprises.
Kwesi, I understand your frustration very well. The cheap money you used to get from Mahama's government has dried up. If indeed your newspaper sells, you should not be crying. There is no free money anymore for the likes of you, Mr. Man. The ***barred word*** has stopped. The president is using the resources of this country law a good course. Kwesi, you claimed to be a socialist not too long ago if I remember right; so what changed??? I beg of you, kindly be patriotic a bit and genuinely help build a better Ghana.
JIMIIFO) YOU AND WHO ARE SUFFERING? SINCE YOU DON'T GET FREE FUEL AND MONEY AGAIN YOU ARE NOW SUFFERING.YOU WILL SUFFER PAAAA SINCE THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING FOR YOU.
Lets be honest with ourselves without applying any form of mathematics , can someone confirm that Kwesi Pratt is suffering from any hardship ? I think no , because he has established himself and he has a solid means of livelihood . What he is doing or what he is saying is for the ordinary citizen who has no means of livelihood . Lests think through issues before we raise our dirty mouths on people . Kwesi Pratt owns his paper and he knows where his office is located and thats where he makes his money . He is taling on behalf of the uneployed graduates , the youth ,the unemployed nurses and so on but if you feel npp is your party and so people shouldnt speak their minds then so be it . But Kwesi Pratt is not hungry and he can never be hungry for 1000 years
hahahaha, interesting times ahead. Kwasi dont worry, it shall be well. But can you explain the kind of suffering you are going through, so that we can compare with ours?
You and who? Now that NDC is not there to dole money out to you this what you are saying. Fooolishhh jounalist. Its faaaaaaarrrrrr better than NDC era.
