Former President John Mahama says Ghanaians are looking up to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to what he termed the harsh economic conditions currently being experienced in the country.
He has thus asked the party’s delegates to give him massive endorsement in the party’s flagbearership race in December.
Mr Mahama is currently on a five-day tour of the Brong Ahafo region to meet with delegates in the constituencies as part of his campaign to lead the party into the next general elections.
He said Ghanaians expect the delegates of the NDC to choose the right who will be able to win power from the Akufo-Addo government in 2020.
The former president said after lying to win political power in 2016, the NPP government has brought untold hardship to Ghanaians, who he said, are now calling for the return of the NDC.
He said it is against this that the party should give him the nod because he has the requisite experience in governance as well as the ability to work hard to bring prosperity to all Ghanaians.
Mr Mahama told delegates at various meetings in the Pru East and West, Sene East and West, AtebubuAmantin and Nkoranza South, all in the Brong Ahafo Region, on Thursday that he is committed to unifying the NDC, strengthening its structures and working hard to return the party to power in 2020.
He appealed to all members of the NDC to unite and work with common interest and purpose, noting that disunity also took a toll on the fortunes of the party in the last elections.

Ghanaians Now Looking Up To NDC For ‘Economic Salvation’ who said that and which sane Ghanaian would ever say such a thing. Anyone who claims that NDC is going to assume power in the next 20 years is a jester of yesterdays, a wishful thinker living in a foouls paradise. I only wish that they did away with this self-righteous and propagandistic and comics approach to every important policy issues of Governance. As if they are intellectually and academically incompetent or they truly lack both. Of late in Ghana it has become very obvious and automatic to predict what NDC stands to very important National issues, for, they polarize every issue into baseless partisan polemics without any substance. Not realizing that they are gradually becoming politically incredible, counterproductive and redundant, which for me, it's sillily self-inflicted.
