The opposition National Democratic Congress might have set a new record for themselves with the longest delegates congress ever held.

Voting at the 9th Delegates Congress started 5pm, Saturday and ended around 9:30am, Sunday.

Some officials of the NDC attributed the time extension to the number of delegates, logistics, others.

Adding his voice to this in a facebook post, Sunday, aide to former President John Mahama, James Agyenim Boateng said the party promised a 'credible and transparent congress' and not the fastest.

"The NDC did not promise to organise the fastest congress ever held in Ghana. We promised to organise the most credible and transparent congress to elect our national officers. And that is what we have done!

The starting point for any complaint in this matter, if any, is for one to show that she or he is either a member of the NDC or, at the very least, sympathetic to its cause.

It is not for NPP people and partisan neutrals to tell NDC members how to elect our leaders. We are not going to take that kind of lecture from our political opponents".
