With the massive restructuring and shake ups at all levels of the National Democratic Congress party, the ruling New Patriotic Party should be disturbed and panic; there indeed is quite some trouble looming for them, Legal Practitioner and NDC Member, Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo has said.
Speaking on Citi TV’s ‘Big Issue’ Saturday, Mr. Samoa Addo was confident that the ‘attractiveness’ the party has built for itself in recent times, coupled with the exuberant crop of leaders the grassroot members have so far endorsed at the various levels will yield great results for the party and simultaneously, ‘end’ the reign of the ruling government in the 2020 polls.
“The NDC didn’t use to attract the middle class; lecturers, lawyers and accountants, it was more of ordinary people, more of my colleague lawyers would prefer to identify themselves as NPP people than NDC people but that has changed, now we wear our badge with pride. It’s no longer hiding behind the scene and advocating from the shadows, you can see that they have taken up positions and are leading the party in terms of position now. The party has become very very attractive. That is a big plus because now there are lots of new ideas, there’s a lot of new energy, and we are going back and trying to learn from our mistakes”, he stated.
“What were the major problems that caused the defeat in 2016? And if you look across, the biggest issue was the disconnect between the party and the government and you could realise that when President Mahama went round and the other leaders campaigning for other positions. We’ve never had it that way where the higher ups of the party will actually go round and campaign for their lives in respect of the regional and national executive positions. It’s always been the case at the flagbearership level but not at the branch levels”.
“I can understand the panic and fear in the NPP because if after beating us with so called 1 million votes, this is not a party that has gone into comatose, this is a party that has bounced back, is energized, a party that has people who are ready to sacrifice and ensure that the party comes back to power, then they must be in trouble, he further added.
Touching on the recently held delegates congress, he said competent executives were elected by grassroot members with the assurance and hope that they perfectly met out their duties and fight to bring back the party in 2020.
“It’s a realization that the grassroots have taken back their party, that the grassroots have decided to have a say in who leads them, and what will happen when we are in power. This was a grassroots revolution, they elected a chairman who they believe will deliver whatever it is they have said they will to the Professor. Botchwey Committee, we have elected executives we feel understand the charge that has been given to them, the charge is very simple; win 2020, that is the mandate, and ensure that the grassroots voice is heard”, he said.

@B. S The whole truth about dumsor is that Ghanaians voted against Mahama because he brought about dumsor and could not solve it, period. That is the gospel and verdict according to the Ghanaian voter! What prof or debate do you want again on the subject of Dumsor? Case closed, finito! Now the main subject of NDC restructuring. How pathetic! What have they done or achieved? The NDC is simply a copy-cat party. They have never and can never initiate any innovative plan. All they know are insults, deceit, lies, wonkyendi, propaganda, akonf3m flying away, etc. By the way, who told you that all university lecturers and "class society" are objective and not ideological fanatics, opportunistic or tribal adherents? If such people are showing their faces now, it does not mean it will add any votes. They had always been voting for the NDC, though perhaps covetously.
My fellow Npp folks lets not downplay what this man is saying. There is some truth in it. D NDC is now attracting the 'class' society. I work in the University and I can confirm that strangely lecturers are now plainly supporting NDC. Hitherto that was not the case.
Mr. Kpakpo as you name may be, there is nothing new that NDC can offer to Ghanaians. These are the same people who were there before NDC was humiliated by NPP in 2016 Dec. so what is the new things that NDC can offer to Ghanaians. What have changed. Or you think John Mahamas analogy that Ghanaians have short memory is hope they the NDC are going to hope on. No way. With John Mahama as their presidential candidate, I bet you NPP is even going to have it cool chop. NDC have nothing for Ghana and John Mahama knows that. What is |John Mahamas desperation to come back to power. To continue his Create, Loot and Share policy, No way.Ghanaians are wise and will not go in for John Mahama his only intention is to amass wealth so that his family will enjoy. Also come and arrogate to his wife Lordina contract at Cocoabod, and will our entire bauxite concession to his brother Ibrahim Mahama. God will not even allow NDC under John Mahama to come to power, Never.
My dear learned Lawyer, that is your wishful thinking but the reality lies somewhere else, where you feel too uncomfortable to hit. NDC lacks the ability to be engaged in constructive discourse in terms of speaking intellectually to issues and policies, except indulging in the deceit of lies, baseless Propaganda, and political polemics. All bore out of the folly of believing that excessive lies and deceit with time become credible in the minds of uninformed and underrated Ghanaian citizenry, politically inexpedient, forgetting the fact that Ghanaians with the benefits of the successive change of Administrations in the Fourth Republic, had politically matured to make informed choices. Choices based on good visionary Leadership, social interventions and policy credibility which embody the genuine ambition to improve their living standards. Hence the priorities should be set right and not unnecessary constructing Dubai interchange in Ghana, ostensibly to buy you votes.
U NPP guys, mention exactly what u did to stop the dumsor. Just tell us your intervention to stop dumsor and be objective. Secondly u think Ghanaians are so xxxxxx to allow our leaders to fix 11 air conditioners in about bedroom house, or to use state money in building cathedral when things are not right.? Please let's for once think right.
The middle class NDC is attracting are those who want a quick channel to climb up the ladder in politics, or tribalistic middle class. How can a party with leaders like Akamba, Bissiw, Sammy Gyamfi, Mosquito attract Middle Class. And how can a party with an abysmal performance in government attract middle class. A party that does not talk about economic indicators cannot attract middle class
This lawyer is not serious. He thinks he is talking to shallow minded people. Has he forgotten Dumsor? Loose talk
The worse defeat awaits these corrupt and greedy ndc th.i.eves in 2020.....
Tickle yourself and laugh. Just to give you an idea of how Ghanaians detest NDC. My lights went off for 4 hours recently between 6pm - 10pm. The heat alone was unbearable. I then realised what your NDC put us through for 4 years. It then dawned on me that we need to avoid the NDC like a plaque for the unbearable discomfort they put us through with their mismanagement of the energy sector
YOUR MAHAMA USED OUR MONEY TO BUY AS MANY AS 150 MAN DIESEL TRUCKS WHICH ARE HIDDEN IN BURKINA FASO. I HAVE SEEN THEM MYSELF IN BOBO DIURASSO THE BURKINA FASSO SECOND CAPITAL. LOOK THESE TRUCKS PLYS WITHIN WEST AFRICAN CONTRIES EXCEPT GHANA. YOUR MAN MAHAMA IS THE MOST WICKED PRESIDENT IN THE WORLD AND SUCH A PERSON DO YOU WANT HIM BACK, THEN YOU ARE STUUUUUUUUPID
