Aspiring National Chairman of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu has rebuked US Representative for Georgia’s 4th congressional district, Henry Calvin Johnson Jr, for writing to their Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo to sanction Ghanaian lawmaker Kennedy Ohene Agyapong over the death of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
Hussein-Suale’s murder on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 has sent shock waves across the world.
The investigative journalist was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Madina.
Following his death, the US Congressman has written to the US State Department, calling for a "maximum U.S. diplomatic, law enforcement, and intelligence support for an investigation into the murder of journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale..."
"The professional execution-style slaying of Mr. Hussein-Suale in the aftermath of Mr. Agyapong’s disgraceful threats raises serious and credible suspicions about the circumstances of this murder. We cannot allow the voices of truth to be muffled by those who would benefit from silence and deceit. Our cherished American principles of freedom of the press necessitate a prompt and thorough investigation," he said.
The US Congressman has asked the State Department to "conduct an independent assessment of the murder and the quality and scope of the Ghanaian government’s investigation; and Determine what sanctions may be levied against Kennedy Agyapong MP, including a ban on travel to the U.S., a ban on access to the U.S. banking system for Mr. Agyapong and his businesses, and any other appropriate and applicable sanctions".
Responding to the issues raised by the US Congressman, Nana Ofori Owusu told sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh that the statement undermine the security prowess of Ghana.
According to him, the US Congressman has disrespected Ghanaians, purporting that Ghana cannot undertake an independent and thorough investigation into the murder of the journalist which is "so disrespectful".
"It is so disrespectful. If you read the content of his statement apart from the Universal remark he made, he disrespected us as a people,” he lamented.

Bros forget these commentators who don't read or if they do lack simple comprehension of what you said...some have the duty to always hail insults irrespective of the import so far as they get to hear it's about Ken....I don't you agreed to his us3le$$ statement yet you are being insulted...this is the kind of people we have in our country
Please let me state that the gruesome murder must be solved immediately. My statement referred to Ghana’s ability to solve without any external Country. We have a police force which must be up and doing. If we can’t solve these challenges then perhaps we don’t need to exist as a Nation state. Is it every time that we must seek help from other Countries to solve our everyday problems? This is the import of my statement. If we listen to the entire argument it will make sense in that context. I alluded to Thomas Hobbes Leviathan and how states structures breaks down and everyone takes matters into their own hands because the state fails us. Thank you
when you have uselessss MP who talk like a madddd person that is what you get instead of you to conderm what that waste of a man said you are attacking what the congress man said haf you conderm what the uselessss MP did please some of you meadurers should stop talking because your time will surely come

You sounded very ***barred word***, let me tell you, to us in the United States, Ken is nobody. This is a member of parliament who can open his mouth and speak garbage but he will not be rebuked? you wait you will see what they will do to him. As a matter of fact, if you are not aware all the parliamentarians are being monitored by the United States.
Yes, because you cannot sanction him you think no one should do so. Hypocrisy would have the best part of all of you. You can ***barred word*** Ghana but not Americans.
Yes that is what the whiteman does all the time to us. Trying to tell us what to do as if we do not have brains and institutions of our own. Meanwhile they have a President who is dancing to a tune which music they are not hearing. Your country is at a standstill over a wall and you want to dictate to us how to run ours? My friend come and we will teach you how to build peace with Mexico instead of building a wall.
