Their Secretary, Alhaji Abu Alhassan in an interview said Nana Addo's detractors who in the past tagged him as a sympathizer of the Abudu family have been ashamed.

He also extolled the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sae-ed for the crucial role he played during the turbulent times.

He said the NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Baantima's Samba's impartial generosity towards the late two Yaa-Naas funerals performance rekindled the NPP's spirit of then as the Northern Peoples Party.

Alhaji Abu Alhassan in advance welcomed the President who is expected to grace the new Yaa-Naa Alhaji Abukari Mahama II coronation scheduled for January 25, 2019 at the precincts of the old Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.

The Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC) is far advanced with preparations in Yendi ahead of the President's visit.

Nana Addo's exemplary leadership

It would be recalled that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on November 21, 2018 at the seat of government (Jubilee House) in Accra issued an Executive Order on the final road-map for the restoration of peace in Dagbang.

This paved the way for the successful performance of the funerals of the late two overlords of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Mahamudu Abdulai IV, and Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II in the old Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.

The Asantehene-led three eminent Kings Mediation Committee presented the final road-map to the President.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo at the event pledged his fullest support to the three Eminent Kings Mediation Committee to implement the final road-map to peace restoration in Dagbang.

He thanked the three eminent Kings for their tenacity and resilience even when the process appeared hopeless at some point.

He asked the sons and daughters of the late two Overlords of Dagbon to rise above the tensions, and support efforts to ensure lasting peace in Dagbang.

The Ghanaian leader insisted that the late two Yaa-Naas’ funerals should be performed in accordance with the customs and traditions of the Dagbon traditional area.

He pleaded that the enskinment of a new Yaa-Naa should be devoid of bloodshed which indeed was a historic event following the peaceful nomination of then Yo-Naa Alhaji Abukari Mahama II as the new Yaa-Naa.
